Council tax bill

I receive my new bill yesterday and surprised to see my amount for the next year has actually gone down.
I'm surprised because I heard it was going to increase so really was dreading opening the letter.
It's around £9 a month lower. I'll be paying over 11 months.

Has anyone else received their and know why it costing less instead of more?

Is it lower as paying over 11m rather than 10. Lots do it over 10?

Over ten months it would be £150 a month so a rise of £4. I can't remember from the last bill if that was paid over 10 or 11 months though

It's normally paid over 10 months so the monthly amount will be lower if you're paying over 11 months. Think its normally not paid in February and March

Not sure why they've set up a plan for 11 months then.
It says one payment of so much then 10x the rest.
From April to feb.

Maybe there are more properties being built in.the higher bands so they are gettin more revenue?

Do people mind me asking how much theirs has risen?
So if I was paying 10 instalments I would be paying £4 a month more.

Up by 4 percent . Think it 60 pound a year as I pay over 10months and get 25% discount as live alone.

I accidentally put one digit wrong in my calculation but mine is still up by 5.23%.

Just found my old bill and it has now risen by £51 for the year.
I just paid the last lot in 10 months though, not 11.
Everything has risen except for 'adult social care'

Could 5% be an average across all bands?

It’s going up 3.9% for a band d. I’m an E though, they have net told us quite how much but less than £20 a month. Which isn’t as painful as I thought it might be.

I'm pretty certain 5% is the maximum that can be enforced without a vote

I've changed mine to pay it over 12 months, as it helps me budget better if my regular/predictable outgoings are the same every month

Ours has increased by around £100 for the year, so an extra £10 a month (as we pay over ten months).

I was expecting worse, so not unhappy with that.

5% here, in Wales though, so I think some councils are putting it up even more here. We don't have the maximum 5% thing like in England, I don't think.
