Depends which way you are travelling and when.

A 20 mile stretch of the A66 closed from Scotch Corner, for instance.

Some details here if you scroll down. (7.47)

Thank you Marnie. South Lakes, which actually doesn’t appear to be bad at all. Going to call the hotel where we are staying to check too before we set off.

Birmingham and closed here, I think they all are from social media posts!

listsandbudgets · 10/03/2023 09:25

@Itsnotyouitsmeiswear Also in Birmingham.

DSs is open but it's independent and has policy of never closing ( other than covid last thing that it closed for was a nearby unexploded bomb during world war 2!) Most independents open today so far as I know.

DD at one of the grammars and it's shut.. yesterday they said they were open so people went in and then they changed their mind at 8.50am.. very annoying

No snow here

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 10/03/2023 09:39

East Yorkshire, sprinkling of snow, kids in school. My hospital appointment in Leeds has been cancelled though.

Vanillaradio · 10/03/2023 09:48

Also in Birmingham (just!) and ds's school is open. From what I can work out secondary schools seem to be largely closed round here, primary schools about 50/50.

purpledalmation · 10/03/2023 10:16

All closed here.

Theunamedcat · 10/03/2023 10:24

Ds goes to a rural school in the Midlands its open the catchment school down the road is closed which is weird as everyone walks to catchment school and no-one can walk to the rural school!

Shockingly the buses are running too

Notparticularlyslappable · 10/03/2023 10:50

Every school in Devon and Cornwall. 10 degrees and sunny here. Just a bit windy.

Itsnotyouitsmeiswear · 10/03/2023 11:09

I used to hate that when we were younger and you’d have to wait for an announcement on the radio! My mom used to drive us the 25 minutes to school to discover as we got there that they decided to close, and we’d just hear it on the radio on the way back home. Today we got the text message from school at 6:15am thank god.

My school is closed. We are in Sheffield and had a lot of snow. Buses were cancelled and a lot of even the main roads weren't cleared.

We made the call to close at 6:30am, having had to close early yesterday just after lunch.

Most, if not all, local schools are closed today.

Abraxan · 10/03/2023 11:17

Main road near us early today

South Birmingham, all 3 schools for 3dc have closed. One was open yesterday but dc did not attend-we live at the top of a hill-sod that for a game of cards!

edwinbear · 10/03/2023 11:25

SE London, not one single speck of snow, just lashings of rain so school open as normal.

PennyRa · 10/03/2023 11:26

Some places it's sunny ☀️

Itsnotyouitsmeiswear · 10/03/2023 15:56

Been sunny here in brum for hours now and most of the snow has gone!
