Who was being rude?

Someone invites a family member to stay with them for a couple of months, gives them a room and the guest makes an absolute mess in the best with piles of unfolded clothes on the bed, undone bed, etc...
On day, the guest closes the bedroom door and goes out for a walk without having cleaned the bedroom. While they are out, the host takes a picture of the bedroom and sends it via email to friends and family members.

Who was being rude? The guest or the host?

Both

QuillBill · 09/03/2023 21:43

The host.

If they had a problem with the guest they should have spoken to them about it.

Willowrose63 · 09/03/2023 21:44

The host for sure!

MamaCanYouBuyMeABanana · 09/03/2023 21:44

The host is an absolute prick, who humiliates someone they, presumably, love because they are messy.

ShirleyPhallus · 09/03/2023 21:44

The host. If someone is staying with you it’s their room to do as they like pretty much, piles of clothes are fine, mouldy cups arent

really rude to go snooping and send the pic out to people

pawz · 09/03/2023 21:45

The host surely!

An unmade bed / unfolded clothes is hardly the dirty crime of the century. Messy definitely (and not a way I'd want to live) but not worthy of shaming.

If you invite someone to stay and give them a room, surely you respect their privacy in that room and as long as it's not damage, leave them to it? Unfolded clothes and an unmade bed are hardly the worst crimes tbh.

ApolloandDaphne · 09/03/2023 21:45

The host. An unmade bed with some washing on it is hardly a hanging offence. They should allow their guest privacy.

Aftjbtibg · 09/03/2023 21:45

The host; unless someone is damaging something in my house then they can leave the bedroom they’re staying in how they like when they visit

SausageRoll2020 · 09/03/2023 21:46

The host behaved far worse than the guest.

The room was the guests for that time, clothes were in a heap and the bed was unmade but that wasn't hurting anyone. Actively choosing to humiliate someone is just horrible.

The door was closed, why did the host even enter?

MissingMoominMamma · 09/03/2023 21:47

Wow- the host!!

BooksAndHooks · 09/03/2023 21:48

The host. Unless it’s things likely to cause a health issue, attract pests or damage anything. Washing not put away and an unmade bed is a non issue and not something they should be invading the privacy of their guests over.

Dacadactyl · 09/03/2023 21:49

The host for sure.

The guest hasn't covered themselves in glory either, but the host should've had a conversation with them over it.

MichelleScarn · 09/03/2023 21:49

Is this a sibling thing?... as in 'muuummm look what Susies done now, told you the mess when we shared a room was always her'

TwoBlueFish · 09/03/2023 21:50

Host definitely. When my friend comes to stay she has stuff everywhere in the bedroom, always tidied up before she leaves. If the host had an issue then should have talked to the guest directly.

SirChenjins · 09/03/2023 21:50

Both are ignorant and show a complete lack of respect for each other but the host has it - just.

MichelleScarn · 09/03/2023 21:50

Although if you shared the actual photo am sure we could decided better 😉

JustAnotherManicNameChange · 09/03/2023 21:51

The host. Unless there was actual damage of property or dirt, filthy/mouldy cups, bin bags etc. Even then, a frank ,adult conversation would've been better than what the host did.

IKnowWhatIKnow · 09/03/2023 21:51

Host. If you have a guest the bedroom is their space for the duration. Rude too go in, even ruder to take pictures and send it someone.

I’m guessing you’re the guest?

EVHead · 09/03/2023 21:52

The host!

Laurdo · 09/03/2023 21:52

Absolutely the host! What a shitty thing to do!

My DH and I lived with my DBIL for a month in another country. Although we tried to keep the room as tidy as possible it's hard having all your stuff confined to one room. Piles of clothes and an unmade bed are hardly the end of the world.

MrsBungle · 09/03/2023 21:53

The host.

Can't send the picture, but pretty much looked like this minus the clothes on the floor but with two beds instead of a double bed and even more clothes on both beds

Host os rude

35965a · 09/03/2023 21:55

Both wrong but host absolutely more so. Taking a photo and sharing it with others is a cuntish thing to do.

Okunevo · 09/03/2023 21:57

Assume they would put away the clothes before bed or how would they sleep?
