Stanley Johnson’s knighthood

PopGoesTheProsecco · 06/03/2023 22:11

Anyone else slightly shocked that a man could put his father forward for a knighthood knowing (according to numerous news outlets) that he broke his mum’s nose leaving her having to go to
hospital?

well father and son are serial cheaters who have fractious relationships with women
amd multiple children too

UrsulaPandress · 06/03/2023 22:17

I’d like to say I’m speechless but I’m probably not.

stbrandonsboat · 06/03/2023 22:18

Urgh, they're both equally disgusting 🤢

What's the point of either of them?

They're both scum. If it wasn't for inherited wealth enabling privileged education and connections the pair of them would be the dirty sleezy dodgy git that you warn your friends and family to steer clear of in the pub.

PhantomOfTheAquarium · 06/03/2023 22:19

Can anyone be "slightly shocked" by anything Boris Johnson does anymore?

BrigitteBond · 06/03/2023 22:19

"Anyone else slightly shocked that a this man could..."

There's nothing that could surprise me now about what that man could and would do.

AnneLovesGilbert · 06/03/2023 22:25

He beat her for years, in front of their children, broke her nose, ruined her mental health and she had a complete breakdown and had to be hospitalised. He cheated on her repeatedly. He’s sexually assaulted other women.

But then Boris denies the existence of some of his children, coerced the mothers of others to get abortions, cheated on all his wives and partners, lied to the queen and the country and tried to get a journalist beaten up.

If they were on a shit soap you wouldn’t believe it.

Utter shameless bastards.

SameOldJunk · 06/03/2023 22:29

Like father, like son. Both a pair of self-serving bastards with zero sense of shame or decency.

It is a stain on the UK that either of them got anywhere near power.

YogaLite · 06/03/2023 23:01

One more way to devalue the idea of knighthoods and Lords?

Galadriel90 · 06/03/2023 23:09

I'm not shocked. Boris is a sociopath. Self serving arsehole. Same as his father, chip off the old block.

Restinggoddess · 06/03/2023 23:14

It’s up to Rishi to stop this from happening- if he had any backbone he would but he won’t because BJ will retaliate over something Rishi needs votes for. It doesn’t matter what, because what’s in the interests of the country does not bother BJ

This is the man who have Gavin Williamson a knighthood

It is an utter disgrace

Yellowdays · 06/03/2023 23:38

I'm inordinately angry about it. I don't know why. It just seems such openly crude nepotism and nose in the trough, at our expense. People say Boris Johnson cares what people think of him but he really doesn't.

We have a shit system if this is allowed. Or even more of one.

JamBiscuitBun · 07/03/2023 00:27

Wow, I'm shocked to hear this. Who has the final say?

foulksmills · 07/03/2023 00:56

Presumably the King?

Triflenot · 07/03/2023 01:06

Wow! Just when you think you’ve heard it all ….

WandaWonder · 07/03/2023 01:49

As ex pm I believe he is allowed, but I think it should be they have to be working for a charity or doing some other actual good sperate to the expm picking them

OneFrenchEgg · 07/03/2023 07:07

What has Stanley J allegedly done to merit one? I think it's disgusting but tbh I'm past being able to get fired up about anything to do with the tories now. I'm fully expecting them to win again and one day we will wake up and wonder how we got to whatever hell they have planned.

Almahart · 07/03/2023 07:09

It's outrageous.

God knows who the other hundred will be.

I wonder when we'll see Liz Truss's listHmm

Icandothattoo · 07/03/2023 07:41

Yup but only the tory party respect women don't ya know🙄 or so they kid themselves

RainyReadingDay · 07/03/2023 08:03

You could see the BJ/SJ knighthood fiasco as giving them enough rope... People may finally see through to the corruption at the heart of the Tories. They've been in power far too long, and believe they can't be touched now.

Wonnle · 07/03/2023 08:13

The Johnson's and their ilk don't live in the real world do they .

Or to give the Johnson's their real name de Pfeffel Johnson's .

They seem to think they can do what they like and the peasants will just have to put up with it

Womblemumma · 07/03/2023 08:14

Boris looking after his own and feathering his own nest - yep, we are back there again.

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 07/03/2023 08:19

Well, Boris Johnson has no moral compass so nothing he does can shock me any more.

What does shock me is the honours system that allows him to nominate his own father for a knighthood. How on earth is that allowed?

SinnerBoy · 07/03/2023 08:20

What does shock me is the honours system that allows him to nominate his own father for a knighthood. How on earth is that allowed?

He gave his brother, the one who refused to back him, a peerage. HE didn't turn it down. He's done nothing to merit it, either.

Greenfairydust · 07/03/2023 08:21

The man has no shame or conscience so it is not surprising.

The system itself needs reforming to avoid this type of nepotism from political scum...
