Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day. I have a headache though & the whirring of the fridge is doing my head in a bit 🙄

We have no proper plans for the day today - dd1 was off school yesterday after being sick, and dd2 has hurt her foot falling over, so we're staying in & just mooching I think.

There's MOUNTAINS of washing to be done for some reason, rather than the usual couple of loads, and last nights pots.

I'll spend the day slowly working my way through those, and crafting. I have some peg people to fix for our reception teacher at work, and want to continue with my blanket.

I think dd1 was going to carry on with her GCSE Drama portfolio. & dd2 did her homework last night so she has nothing to do.

Good afternoon

We were up relatively early this morning to go car shopping. Now crossing my figners that the finance is approved because our current one is quite literally falling apart.

We've had hot dogs for lunch, then DH went off to golf for the afternoon. DS1 is finishing homework and gaming, DS2 is just gaming and DD is sat next to me on her iPad.

I'm browsing MN and restructing our family budget to accomodate said car and begin to get a handle on the rest of it! We want to buy a house in 3-5 years time, so we need to rein in the spending and divert it to savings pretty quickly or we've no chance.

Some tough choices to make.

Been to work for an hour as had to print something off, took both DSs to drama class, went to Tesco for a few bits, picked up DS2 from drama, watched an episode of House with DH, cleaned the bathroom, put some washing on. Now DH has gone to pick to DS1 from drama and bringing back a McD's.

Homework, cleaning, hanging up washing and a bit more work later. Enchiladas for dinner and Red Rose on Netflix tonight.

Tomorrow is Sunday roast and football then a long hot bath!

I’m feeling a little delicate after last night and wondering if I can avoid a family lunch without causing upset.

It’s probably not worth it and DH and DS are ready and waiting.

Oh have a lovely time. I remember when my daughter walked home from school the first time to prep her for going to senior school. I'd taken the afternoon off and hid in the bushes to watch her to make sure she didn't get stuck with the key or panic. I looked up to see a neighbour staring down at me from the window, and the look of disappointment when my daughter realised she actually wasn't going to be home alone for an hour after all!
You'll need that wine!

I’m working. The joys of being a nurse. Thankful for my mum and older daughter who are amusing and feeding my younger kids as DH also busy this weekend.

Hello 👋 I had a lie in till 9am then did my mums shopping and popped in for a coffee. Hoovered, put a dry load of washing away and put on a load of bed sheets. Going out for a meal tonight with the family so really looking forward to that. Got a few hours to kill so will read my book. Oh and I topped up all the bird feeders in the garden

Working my way through sorting jobs today. I have a bin bag, charity bag and paper recycling bag with me and a box for 'move to a different room' it's going well. Just having a break and will get back to it soon.

A chill day today 😌 and lots of cuddles of my little man
