I just can’t believe how BAD it is

I haven't watched this but I did watch the holiday one. Absolutely fucking terrible.

I cannot stand her and really don't get why she's popular. Thank god for this thread!

I think critique the show but agree the personal remarks about the individual are unnecessary.

Maybe it is mean but I do think she's really not great at acting. I'm sure she's lovely but her acting just isn't good!

I thought the series was utter shite but due to the poor casting, bad direction, ridiculous plot. Only thing that bothered me about SS were the short skirts and pouty filler lips as I can't bear them they are so unnatural

I've seen her acting brilliantly in some things - but it's fine to say she hasn't acted brilliantly in others.

I watched it a while a go and enjoyed it. Looks like I'm in the minority though.

Of course - but people aren't saying it quite like that.
We don't all have to like everyone but the same old be kind gets rolled out every so often - look at Caroline Flack for example and how social media ruined her and yet people keep on being horrible. A whole thread slagging off Sheridan - just seems harsh to me.

No you're probably right @Soproudoflionesses - it went from her acting to her generally and that is unkind and unnecessary.

What a nasty thread, I’d you don’t like the series fair enough but to be so awful about a woman on a public thread, particularly when that woman has experienced significant mental health issues is really out of order.

I’m interested to understand why people might think that’s OK.

I will never understand the praise for her singing abilities - she has an ok voice, but it's all very Emperor's New Clothes. I feel similarly about Susan Boyle in this respect. Ok voice but not really pleasant to listen to. 😮

Sheridan Smith is an extremely talented, versatile actress...she can do comedy, she can sing and she has done some bloody good dramas too.

People shouldnt jump on a bandwagon.

I think she is unpopular because she isn't great at PR and being "herself." I know someone who worked with her and he said it was very, very difficult. Partly due to mental health and addiction issues, which credit to her, she has faced and is still dealing with.

I'm sure she will be back in favour at some point given her talent.
