I swear I wish I could die!! I know it sounds pathetic but I have got thru 3 big boxes of tissues in the last 2 days! I am now having to re-use old dry ones as I have just run out and no one can get more. It's utterly miserable. My nose literally goes into spasms and then I get this explosive sneezing and can't stop. And the soreness is horrible too. I use balsam tissues and yet my nose is raw.
I do get heavy colds but it's been years since I had one like this. Has anyone else got this and care to join me in my misery?!

My covid was exactly like that

ScrumpyTree · 01/03/2023 17:37

So many at my workplace with Covid right now. All feeling awful with it.

Over half of some departments out.

BooseysMom · 01/03/2023 17:41

Thank god, I'm not alone! I have to have a tissue literally stuck to my nose now!!! I'm wondering is there such a thing as a nasal steroid injection?! Is it cos I have a larger than average nose?!

Yes, I have this!! I have never sneezed this hard or this loudly before! Tissues everywhere. I have had a lot of colds before and this one seems… intense.

yentirb · 01/03/2023 17:59

Yes. Was convinced it was covid but I'm just sick.

How's everyone today? Looks like it's covid after all as I have a faint positive today. Felt really shaky and cold and dizzy last night in bed. Eventually passed out but woke today feeling spaced out and have a sore throat.

I had the one that turned out to be Covid three days in. It is everywhere again right now.

TheEverlovingFork · 02/03/2023 09:45

Oops, just seen your update - it's the pits isn't it? hope you feel better soon!

elm26 · 02/03/2023 09:59

Op, put Vaseline around your nostrils, it'll stop them being sore and dry.

Hope you feel better soon 💐

I’m just started to get over a horrendous cold. Was totally fine on Monday morning- went to the gym, all fine. An hour later I was shaking, had a headache and sore throat. Spent Tuesday with a tissue clamped to my nose at all times and feeling absolutely miserable, and slept most of yesterday. Today the snottiness is mostly gone and I feel human again, but I’m wheezing a bit and have the energy of an 80 year old. Haven’t bothered testing but I doubt it’s covid, seems to have blown over too quickly for that.

Mariposista · 02/03/2023 10:18

Today is the first day I have started to feel better after 11 days, and I NEVER get ill. Never been so snotty, awful chesty cough, a sore throat that no amount of paracetamol would touch, tiredness, headache, the lot. Absolutely awful. Have struggled through work each day (self employed, no paid time off) and ai am also a competitive athlete and expected at training unless dying. Not my best 2 weeks. Get well soon!

Nosandwichfilling · 02/03/2023 10:23

We have just have covid, not much snot at all, after a week feeling back to normal apart from still tired.

@LoobyDop I had covid in the first wave and was very unwell for weeks and full recovery took about 8 months. This time it was a very different experience. I actually ached a bit for two days, then felt fine went for a 1.5 hour walk, next day I was in bed for 2 days straight.

Sunriseinwonderland · 02/03/2023 10:26

Yes me, for over a week. It isn't covid I tested. Im still getting free test kits because of my job.
Coughed all night so no sleep followed by a horrible migraine, I have to go to work I'm so busy so I'm sitting in a spare room doing admin away from the other staff feeling like hell.

Timeforabiscuit · 02/03/2023 10:31

It's finally moved from my nose to my chest after five days, which I thought was progress of a kind - I remember when a cold lasted 2 days and was sorted with a hot toddy and paracetamol.

BooseysMom · 02/03/2023 11:10

Thanks for everyone's updates..sounds awful! It's rife then. Lemsip max wouldn't touch my headache last night and now I have a sore throat starting. I feel sick and dizzy too.

Thank you. Yes I've got Vaseline..I was blowing my nose so much yesterday that it kept coming off! Thankfully it's drying up now

@BooseysMom oh no, sorry to hear that! Poor you and all the others who have Covid.

I think mine is a standard cold - the headache/sinuses stopped yesterday and streaming nose is slowing but still flowing. It’s gone on my chest now (normal
for me for any cold) so coughing and no voice. But it doesn’t feel like covid as a productive cough that is clearing out not shallow tight chest.

I just did a test anyway, you never know! I will update in real time 😂

Wednesdaysotherchild · 02/03/2023 12:22

Negative for covid, phew!

Highly recommend Balmond’s skin salvation for the sore nose.

Thanks. You too! Starting to see improvement today and it started 11 days ago… so unlike me, I normally shake off colds in a couple of days. People at work have been asking whether I sudden have a 40 a day habit.

I have no chest symptoms at all, just headache/streaming sinuses/sore throat, and it's still covid :/

TheEverlovingFork · 02/03/2023 18:58

Seen your update - glad you're neg! :)

familyissues12345 · 02/03/2023 19:45

DS2 has got an awful cold at the moment, it's been so bad he's virtually deaf. Thankfully it seems to be breaking up a bit now! Definitely not Covid, unless the virus has managed to evade 3 tests over the last 4 days
