Anyone renewed a passport recently?

Just wondering how long they're taking? Just realised my child's one runs out soon

2 childrens done a couple of weeks ago. One took 8 days and one 14 days. Did it all online including photos. Sent old passport back signed for .

I shall be following this thread.... mine was sent off a week ago, and they've received my old passport. I need it back in a month so have everything crossed...

8 days, everything was done online with photos take at home (there are tips for that, if you consider doing the same).

I think it varies from Passport office to Passport office. I have everything crossed!

The online process was very easy once we got the photo right!

Just did one and it was just over 5 wks with a but if a shambles tbh. Got required to send birth certificate then marriage certificate which was unexpected as never been asked before, had to ring and ask what the issue was and they couldn't explain and none of our docs got recorded as received online. Managed to sort swiftly after a call. Luckily we don't fly until the start of Easter so it was fine just odd. Hemel office.

Two recently. Mine took 5 working days start to finish. DD's took around four weeks. Both sent on the same day. I think DD's took longer because hers went from a 5yr to a 10yr passport.

I just renewed my MIL’s and it only took 10 days. Did it all online and it was nice and easy.

DH and I have just done ours. We completed the forms on line, paid extra for tracked return. I immediately sent off the old passports by Royal Mail next day delivery. The new ones were returned in 4 working days.
The passport office sent texts when each stage was completed.

My son did in the weeks before Xmas, applied on the Friday, it was delivered on the following Wednesday. Online renewal. It was so fast he thought his new passport was his old one being returned!

2 weeks for child renewal including needing to upload a new photo as first was rejected. South east

Just over a week from when I sent my old passport in, 16 days from doing the online application. (I did the online app quickly when I learnt that prices were going up but couldn't get to the post office until later)

Hardest part was trying to get a photo that was suitable

Definitely do it on line!!! Don’t bother with the Post Office service. On line is super quick and efficient.

They received my old passport the day after I did my application.

Haven't heard anything since. I presume I would've heard straightaway if the photo wasn't acceptable? It was marked as OK on the online thing.

I have a few weeks to play with, I just get nervous about this sort of thing, when I hear people have had their renewals back in less than a week!
