Best non sugar free cordial

I need to start drinking more fluids but hate water by itself . I also have major ibs which is irritated by sweeteners which annoyingly most cordials now contain
Can anyone recommend a good cordial that's not sugar free and you only need a drop of to flavour your water? Thanks in advance

Rocks?

BoredBetsy · 26/02/2023 20:13

I bought a Mr Fitzpatrick and it's really good. Cream soda is amazing. Online.

CatchHimDerry · 26/02/2023 20:15

I have this problem and have tried Rocks (wasn’t a fan)

Now buy several a week of Bottle Green and Belvoir. Highly recommend

Ocado have the most flavours but also have a few in Asda I have found

UnaOfStormhold · 26/02/2023 20:19

What about using fruit and herbs to flavour your water - mint, lemon, cucumber etc are all really easy and just need a bit of steeping time.

A bit more complex but homemade elderflower cordial is lovely and very easy to make in season if there are elder bushes/trees near you. Basically pick flowers, slice up lemons, make a sugar syrup, pour over the fruit and flowers, leave 24 hours before straining and bottling. I put mine in the freezer to make sure it keeps.

Rose's lime cordial is delicious.

Google air up bottles!

Stinkypup · 26/02/2023 20:31

What about the French syrups called Tissault or similar

Walterwhiteswifey · 26/02/2023 20:31

Ribena 🤤

Valhalla17 · 26/02/2023 20:32

Belvoir Ginger is yum!

Google air up bottles!

They're awful, taste of pure chemicals!

CatOnTheChair · 26/02/2023 20:38

Belvoir
Rocks when I can't get the above.

Ribena contains sweetners these days.

IntentionalError · 26/02/2023 20:38

I like Tesco High Juice Blackcurrant. It’s 50% juice & I actually prefer it to no sugar Ribena.

CinnamonStar · 26/02/2023 20:40

I drink a lot of cordial. Rose’s lime cordial is my cheaper every day go-to, for special occasions I like Thorncroft Kombucha cordial and Mawson’s ginger, they are both not overly sweet. DH has a liquorice one that he likes, either a Thorncroft one or Mrs something, can’t remember, and he also likes sarsaparilla and dandelion and burdock.

DC prefer sweeter, fruitier cordials and don’t touch any of ours with a barge pole! They like Belvoir and Bottlegreen.

@newjobnewstartihope
Add sparkling water and it's really good.
I don't buy any fizzy drinks anymore either apart from coke as they all have artificial sweeteners in them.

Identifyingasadolphin · 26/02/2023 20:52

Robinsons lime & mint cordial

kitsuneghost · 26/02/2023 20:53

Waterdrop

Identifyingasadolphin · 26/02/2023 20:54

Half a Berocca energy tablet in a litre of water - if exercising is very pleasant

Robinsons lime & mint cordial

I love this....it feels like I'm drinking a Mojito at work 😂

unsync · 26/02/2023 21:01

I just dilute fruit juice.

HideTheCroissants · 26/02/2023 21:02

I can’t tolerate artificial sweeteners either OP. We drink a lot of Bottle Green cordial. All delicious. Marks & Spencer do some non sugar free squashes too but they can be hard to find.

@IntentionalError

It has sweetners & @newjobnewstartihope can't have sweetners.

I grew up on Ribena, but they have RUINED it (I expect the Govt is to blame!!). I was buying the sugar free version as I'm diabetic.

& I have it really weak (my preference) but it's not great, so thought I'd try the normal
one and was SO disappointed!

I haven't had the high Juice for ages, so I'm going to get some this week, thanjs for reminding me about it!!

also ordered some Roses Lime, I'd forgotten about that too!

I do drink mostly water, but it's nice to have a change sometimes & for a hot drink!!

newjobnewstartihope · 26/02/2023 21:07

Loved the original Ribena but also C-vit! Don't know if anyone else remembers that ky grandad always used to drink it by the gallon

Robinsons lime & mint cordial

This has sweeteners too, unfortunately.

We like Rocks, Bottle Green, and Belvoir, plus Waitrose pink grapefruit hi juice. Their orange is nice too, but all their other hi juices are a mix of sugar and sweeteners. Morrisons do a cherry and vanilla cordial that's good, and M&S have an orange hi juice that's sweetener free.

Lemondrizzle20 · 26/02/2023 21:24

Belvoir, Rick's, Bottle Green, some Robinson's ( often have to get through Amazon though).

Or have a look in some of your local delis or farmshops or Waitrose, there might be ones local to you.

There are so few left now (thanks Mr Santimonious TV chef with the perfect life), we're seriously considering making our own this year as we also have conditions in the family that mean we can't take that NutraSweet manufactured future scandal crap....
