When are school Oct holidays?

Hoping to take our DC to london in Oct. Was wondering roughly when the school holidays are this year - I know they’ll vary by region but roughly? Ideally want to avoid the really busy times (if possible!)

I'm in London and it's generally Monday 23 October to Friday 27 October 2023, but can vary a bit by school.

We are SW London borders - some schools locally have two weeks in October, so that week and the following.

Yes I did thank you for that advice. I couldn’t see anything definitive so imagined that asking on parent site might give me a range of options from different areas. I didn’t realise we were restricted on what we are allowed to post - you could always ignore my thread

Your local area will have already set the holiday dates for next year.
It's usually end of Oct but some areas have 2 weeks.

So more towards the end of Oct. Thanks very helpful thank you as we are thinking second week so potentially slightly quieter in the kids touristy places.

Friend is a teacher in London, his half term is week 23rd.

Ours is w/c 30th (Yorkshire).
Worth also noting some areas have two weeks at October, some go back end of August and have half term slightly earlier.

H and I both teachers but on different half terms next oct, there’s no definitive answer.

We live in SE London and have 2 weeks from 15th October.

Have a look on your school website or local authority website. Next years school dates are already out.

We have 2 weeks from the 23rd.
School over the road from ours has 2 weeks from the 16th.

We break up on the 20th and back on the 6th.

Se London and my borough is now mostly on two week had terms in October - the last two weeks

Schools have to publish term dates on their own websites...

We finish 27th Oct to Mon 6th Nov in Durham

The school should have next year's holiday days already and if not the council definitely will.

The term dates are usually on the LA website for the schools in each area.

It can vary quite alot across the countys. Best to check the school website.

End of October rather than start, but round us the LAs have decided 2 different weeks between then (and Feb half term, and Easter....).
I don't think you will get an absolute date, but if second week you mean 9th- 15th you are likely to be clear of most schools.

Ours is WC 30th October which is really late for us and has caught a few people out with booking holidays!

England, last week in October. Wales the week after it seems.
