Good non alcoholic wines??

Can anyone recommend any good non alcoholic wines please?

I've tried a couple in the past but they've not been great.

I bought Natureo from Morrisons when I had a friend round who no longer drinks alcohol. She said it was good.

Realise this won't be useful for a while (!), but Morrisons non-alcoholic mulled wine was great, with a few slices of oranges added.

The Aldi zerosecco is a palatable alt to Prosecco or cava, I like it

Champagneforeveryone · 25/02/2023 19:31

DH is drinking the red Natureo and says it's fine. It's fruity rather than dry, but really quite palatable.

M&S Prosecco was by far the best I tried

MaggieFS · 25/02/2023 20:17

There aren't any. Trust me, I think I must have tried them all.

Oblomov23 · 25/02/2023 20:25

Haven't found a good one yet, and I've been looking for both a good red, and a dry white, for my Dry January's for many years!

Snugglemonkey · 25/02/2023 20:33

I have tried loads, all gross!

CorpusCallosum · 25/02/2023 20:36

I had some 'Are you feeling noughty' when pregnant last. Awful name, just about drinkable Prosecco. From Majestic & Waitrose.

Yes! The first time I tried it I thought it might be a bit schloer-ish but actually had a few bottles over Christmas and it's a really good substitute. It's nice too for special occasions when you want to feel you're having something a bit special 😂

cocksstrideintheevening · 25/02/2023 21:02

I think they're all awful. They're not wine, so I'd rather drink something else!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 25/02/2023 21:05

Not quite what you asked for, but Kombucha is naturally non alcoholic and a very good alternative to sparking wine

TwoPointFourCatsAndDogs · 25/02/2023 21:07

I was at The Ritz last year for afternoon tea (special treat) and they had fermented tea as an option for non-alcoholic champagne. It was delicious. DH bought a few bottles for xmas (Waitrose, I think) and it was good.

IntentionalError · 25/02/2023 21:08

The wines I have tried have all been awful, but no-alcohol beers have improved enormously. Brewdog’s Punk AF & Nanny State, Adnam’s Ghost Ship 0% & Erdinger Alkoholfrei are all good.

SwimmingFree · 25/02/2023 21:17

Just paid £14 today for a bottle of non alc red wine called Wednesdays Domaine, it was absolutely disgusting. I'm not sure it might have been off, can't believe I paid that for it!

Darling Cellars and Adnams are the best reds I've tried but I tend to stick to kombucha, beer and gin alternatives.

Agreed.

St Peter's Without is also a pretty decent stout replacement.

rioseco · 25/02/2023 21:30

Low /non alcohol cider is great. Sainsbury's 0.9% English Apple is as good as the real thing (imo!)

Candleabra · 25/02/2023 21:34

The 0% Prosecco (various brands) are vaguely ok , but only because of the bubbles I think. All other ones are rank. I’d much rather have a really nice non alcoholic drink than try and replicate wine.

MaggieFS · 25/02/2023 20:17

Came on to say this. If you genuinely enjoy wine, the alcohol free stuff is categorically all shit. I’m not arsed about any sort of Prosecco but I love a dry white wine like Macon or NZSB or a full bodied red and they just don’t exist without abv.

thelionthewitchtheaudacityofTHISbitch · 25/02/2023 21:56

My mum has to have non-alcoholic for heart issues and I bought her the McGuigans no-alc red. She said it was quite nice, so inspired to reduce my alcohol cosumption I bought a bottle for me. It is gross. I cooked with it in the end. Just no. So very much appreciating the other recommendation posts on here.
Also tried the no-zecco prosecco (Tesco?) - add a lot of ice and lemon. Ok-ish!

LactoseTheIntolerant · 25/02/2023 22:03

I like sinzero wines especially the white chardonnay and the sparkling, you can't buy it in supermarkets though, any non alcoholic wine I've ever bought from supermarkets is horrible.

SkaneTos · 25/02/2023 22:03

Oddbird Spumante Non Alcoholic. Very nice non alcoholic sparkling wine from Italy.

AlmaCogansFrockFan · 25/02/2023 23:07

All the still ones I've tried have been horrible. Non-alcoholic prosecco and sparkling wines are much better and taste more like the real thing. Non alcoholic Kopparberg cider is also good. If you like Aperol spritz Lyres do a non alcoholic aperol, and that mixed with non alco prosecco and soda tastes just like the real thing! Have also discovered martini vibrante which is non-alcoholic and usually mixed with tonic water.

Aerielview · 25/02/2023 23:23

Don't waste your money on them, op. You'll pay a lot of money for what is basically just grape juice. Save your money and buy something like Shloer instead.

Dillydallydilly · 25/02/2023 23:28

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 25/02/2023 21:05

Yeah kombucha is the drink I’ve gone to when I want something non alcoholic but ‘grown up’ feeling.

All the non alc wines I’ve tried have been horrible.
