Can anyone recommend any good non alcoholic wines please?

I've tried a couple in the past but they've not been great.

I know op was asking about wines, but someone mentioned non-alcoholic gin. I've only tried Cerocero from Lidl, which was disgusting. Are there any drinkable ones?

Gordon’s and Tanqueray now do them! I’ve been impressed - I can’t really tell the difference to the alcoholic versions! Maybe a little more floral.

Noseccco

I had this as my Christmas alternative and it was so sweet, gave me a headache. Fine for one glass.

I've seen the Gordon's one - good to know it's drinkable! Will keep a look out for Tanqueray, too. Enjoy both of those with alcohol. Wonder if pubs and restaurants are now serving them? You can get alcohol-free wines and beers everywhere!

I always think no alcohol wines have a rather rancid smell that puts me off more than the taste!

lottyh · 26/02/2023 00:29

Not no alcohol....but I tried sainsburys 5% alcohol wine a few weeks ago.....and it was OK! About 4 quid a bottle.....I had the red and popped it in the fridge and it was drinkable. So more than half the alcohol of a normal bottle of red....every zero one I've tried has been vile....nosecco is only fit for unblocking drains!

I tried the Kylie zero per cent rosé after a friend mentioned liking the alcohol version. It was nice. Can't remember if it was sparkly, I find those ones a bit easier to drink.

I am with the pp who drinks kombucha, most of the wines are a bit yuck and for some reason I really begrudge paying the same price for a non alcoholic wine as an alcoholic one!

Thank you everyone. I'm not a lager fan plus am coeliac but the low/no alcohol ciders sound good plus the Proseccos. I need to stop or drastically cut back my alcohol intake but have certain social situations where I want to look like I'm having a "grown up" drink.

If you just want a grown up drink, order a nice mixer like fever tree put it in a jazzy gin glass with ice and a slice and you’re there.

hate all non alcoholic wines . Gordons 0% is a game changer .

GailTheSnail · 26/02/2023 11:33

If you like a riesling waitrose does a great non-alcoholic one

If you’re a wine drinker then there really isn’t an alternative in my opinion. However, if you think of the wine as a different beverage without the same expectation I do find de-alcoholized wine better than non-alcoholic (I think the process is different)
If you are a gin drinker there are lots of zero alternatives on the market which are really quite good!

DancingDaughter50 · 26/02/2023 11:52

Fake gin is excellent esp with tonic, I'm super impressed by it.

Also noseecco is very good, and some other prosecco alternatives... However I'd love to find a deep rich red and a light crispy white. All been utterly undrinkable so far.

DancingDaughter50 · 26/02/2023 11:55

Noseecco 8s good because you still get that fizzy pop of the bottle and it feels special pouring it
