If you could pick 3 qualities to pass on to your children, what would they be?

Lighthearted! If you could pick a person to have children with, and you could pick 3 qualities from them which would be passed on to your children, what would they be?

Obviously thats not how it works IRL but, I am currently in the process of selecting a sperm donor and finding it so hard to narrow down the options available to me. Anything from eye colour, personality type, education, height, favourite animal… there’s a lot of information!

What qualities would matter most to you?

Appearance wise I can’t think of anything! If it was purely for a partner I’d say tall and dark.

Well educated would be a bonus too.

Humour - particularly an ability to laugh at themselves and in general

Maybe shallow but I think those are influenced by genetics and most of the other stuff comes from upbringing, which you would be providing not the sperm donor. Kindness isn’t really inherited, imo!

SplunkPostGres · 25/02/2023 12:42

And just realised I completely misread and just went on the thread title.

for a sperm donor: facial symmetry - I think I remember something vague as a good gene indicator, and good height/ weight ratio ; ideally with good natural muscle tone to indicate physical well-being

MyOldFriendTime · 25/02/2023 12:54

Yes, resilience, positivity, confidence etc can be taught, I think.
I'd go for:
Personality type - someone kind with a good sense of humour.
Favourite animal - cat, obvs 😆
Fairly very Intelligent.
