If you could pick 3 qualities to pass on to your children, what would they be?

Lighthearted! If you could pick a person to have children with, and you could pick 3 qualities from them which would be passed on to your children, what would they be?

Obviously thats not how it works IRL but, I am currently in the process of selecting a sperm donor and finding it so hard to narrow down the options available to me. Anything from eye colour, personality type, education, height, favourite animal… there’s a lot of information!

What qualities would matter most to you?

btw, one of my grandchildren is via IVF.
recent revelation to me; the child is one of 31 (known) half siblings. The donor was “retired” from donating due to overwhelming successes. Many of the “sibbies” as they call themselves are within a short time span, and are in touch semi regularly. The mom is on a fb group with those who chose to stay in touch.

If it’s a sperm donor, I’d go with height, intelligence, and looks if you have that option. Assume all sperm donors are screened for health issues, if not I’d pick that over looks.

In terms of what I’d want to pass on from myself - hard work, positivity, love of learning/curiosity. I think those things are likely to make somebody happy in life. Unfortunately I don’t think you can really tell if a sperm donor has those qualities or not!

It's hard to choose. Things I don't possess but would love to have would probably be determination
People person by which I mean caring and loving
Confident (I'm not sure this is genetic).

If my child got those 3 things off his father I'd be happy.
