Are there lots of bugs / viruses going around at the moment - have you been unwell?

I’ve felt quite rough since Monday morning. Nauseous, lost appetite, diarrhoea, wiped out. And physically vomited a lot yesterday morning.

I thought it was something to do with a UTI / antibiotics I’ve been taking - but tests are now clear. Just did a covid test - clear.

It’s so unlike me to lose my appetite - is there a virus going around at the moment? Have you been ill?

I have the runs. It's very bad. I am never ill. Just hoping the family escape it.

APurpleSquirrel · 23/02/2023 19:07

Yes, lots of stomachs bugs going round school; & I've had a sinus infection for the past 2 weeks - DC full of sniffles & snot too 🤧

Batcountry8 · 23/02/2023 19:08

Suddenly got stomach ache and bad headache in the evening, been in bed all day. Not great is it.💐

Yes everyone in our house has had everything you describe OP except being physically sick.

Fed up with it. I've been ill with one virus or another since mid November. Think I've had about two weeks of feeling alright in between it all.

headstone · 23/02/2023 19:10

I had this last week. I did a stool sample but it came back clear. Very weird type of virus.

BluebellBlueballs · 23/02/2023 19:10

Tested pos for covid yesterday. It's definitely a lot milder than when I first had it, like a bad cold really but feeling grotty yo say the least

BeetleyCarapace · 23/02/2023 19:11

Not gastric in my case but I’ve had two colds on the bounce, which for me is extremely unusual. So yes I think there’s a lot of bugs going round.

NoSquirrels · 23/02/2023 19:13

Oh interesting! I’ve got a headache (never suffer usually) like pressure behind the eyes, and a dodgy stomach despite not having eaten anything remotely controversial and feel really really tired. Came on super suddenly yesterday afternoon and I’m not right yet. Pissed if it’s ruining my being productive half term plans, tbh.

HavfrueDenizKisi · 23/02/2023 19:14

Yup. Myself and DH had this over the weekend and DD1 also but she wasn't as bad. Wiped me out for a week.

daretodenim · 23/02/2023 19:19

No nausea thank goodness but an absolutely horrendous "cold" where I'm suddenly violently sneezing (you know like when some men sneeze and deliberately make it really loud, it's like that, but not deliberate) and coughing so much my lungs, throat and stomach muscles hurt. Massive swollen glands under jaw which are sore and feel like they're putting pressure on back-underneath of sinuses.

Can barely talk without coughing my guts out. I've never had a cold like this - I hesitate to even call it a cold. Covid test negative.

Lala1937 · 23/02/2023 19:21

@NoSquirrels yes I woke up on Monday morning and felt rough after feeling absolutely fine on Sunday. I am hoping I am over the worst of it.

Yep all had a twenty four hour sickness type bug each person a few days apart

Fizbosshoes · 23/02/2023 19:34

I have had nausea and feeling really thirsty (which is usually a pre-cursor to being sick) since Monday. Barely slept Monday night from stomach and back cramps/spasms....which have lessened but still not gone....but haven't actually had D or V yet..

Ozgirl75 · 23/02/2023 19:39

My son was being sick last night - standard 24 hour vomiting and diarrhoea bug as he’s now feeling better. No doubt it will fell the rest of us this weekend.
Other son had a random morning of temperature and feeling queasy with a headache the week before but this also went within a few hours.

PinkyParka · 23/02/2023 19:48

I was going to ask this. Started feeling off about 10 days ago and then Saturday started with full on flu like symptoms. Has completely wiped me out. Sore throat and ear on one side too, and a cough now developing. All Covid tests negative. A lot of feeling sick, lack of appetite. This has floored me like nothing else.

Ozgirl75 · 23/02/2023 19:50

Interestingly I have the tv on at the moment and there’s various adverts about washing up at cooler temps, washing clothes, towels etc at 30 and I wonder if that’s contributing as these temperatures won’t kill any germs.

Newuser15 · 23/02/2023 19:54

Yep.. nausea, diarrhoea and stomach cramps, not able to eat and then no energy whatsoever, whole body hurts as I'm so weak, shivers too. Had it since Sunday. Sounds very similar..

userxx · 23/02/2023 19:56

My friend has got exactly what you described op, felt rough on Monday and still rough now, on the plus she's lost weight, her words.

Whitewolf2 · 23/02/2023 20:07

Yes dd1 was sick several times sat night, then developed cold symptoms which she still has (runny nose, coughing etc). Dd2 was sick Monday night, then same cold symptoms. Then Dh was very sick last night, stomach cramps, vomit, diarrhoea, completely wiped out. Now today I have a sore throat, feel exhausted and really bloated stomach, don’t want to eat anything. I’m really hoping I’m not sick tonight! Whatever it is it’s a really horrid bug.

RaininSummer · 23/02/2023 20:07

Had nausea, dizziness, achey joints and headache for a week now. Added to the 3 colds, fluey respiratory thing and Covid I have had since September I am pretty fed up with feeling ill.

Always4Brenner · 23/02/2023 20:08

Nasty cold and conjunctivitis as well about two weeks ago now.

I have something like this

It's odd

AliceTheeCamel · 23/02/2023 20:12

DH and I both had the runs one after the other. Neither of the DC had it which is unheard of as normally the only place we could get d&v from is them!

Babdoc · 23/02/2023 20:15

Those of you who have been vomiting probably had Norovirus, which has been circulating for a while now. DD and her fiance were stricken at the weekend.
Covid is still grumbling around, with a recent rise, but flu is currently declining.
This time of year is often bad for infections, as people’s vitamin D levels are low at the end of the winter, and they are indoors more, exchanging germs with each other.

VintageThoughts · 23/02/2023 20:15

DD was very poorly about 2 weeks ago. S&D. Totally wiped out for a week and still not much appetite.

She hadn't been sick for 15 years so quite a big deal!
