I'm just drinking my cup of coffee, in my spot, while I do a little bit more crochet broccoli to go with the other Supertato props. He's definitely the most time consuming!

Both girls are awake for a change so we're going to get dressed soon & head out to a local-ish Home Bargains for snacks for dd1 to take on her residential next week. We'll nip in Asda too for a few things to go on pancakes 😋

When we get in, there are a few small things to do. Dd2 wants help to wrap her friends birthday present and take off some stick on nails, as well as try out a Butter Beer recipe she found on Pinterest. I could do with getting everything for Tuesday evening's Rainbow and Guide meetings in one place to hand to my friend who runs Brownies so she can get the Rainbows started with their activity - I might be late this week, dd2's parents evening is on Tuesday.

Slow cooked pork for tea, possibly as sandwiches on tiger bread, with stuffing. I might do roasties too 🤔

Later on, probably more broccoli for me, and making sure the girls are sorted for tomorrow. I've already done the courses we were asked to complete so have an additional day off. Looking forward to the house to myself!

What about all of you? 🙂

In the spare room with 2 dogs snoring at my feet and one of the cats staring at me from on high. Hot yoga at 10.30 and dh is bringing ds to his hurling game. Swapped some furniture from spare room with dd yesterday and we went to ikea last night to get more storage so she will want shelves put up later. Older ds and his girlfriend will drop over later for dinner which will be either Italian spatchcock chicken or Greek chicken and something vegetarian for him. Not sure on sides yet.

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 19/02/2023 08:58

I'm currently lying on my sofa with my little boy and the little dog has jumped up too.
I'll wait until my boy gets up and then I'm going to get busy upstairs, packing up for our house move which I'm not looking forward to.
I'll make a roast chicken dinner later and fit the dog's walk in at some stage (he hates them bizarrely).

soboredtonight · 19/02/2023 09:04

Might make some brownies later.

DH birthday today. He wants to cook a roast with the radio on on his own without anyone bothering him.

I like doing that too so I'm going to get out his way and take the dogs out I think then watch Netflix

Currently lying on the sofa doing not a lot while DD plays. She woke up at half 3 this morning, and went back to sleep around 5:15 in my bed but I couldn't get back to sleep properly. I dozed on and off but didn't get any quality sleep so I'm pretty tired now. At some point I will make myself go upstairs and have a shower...

DH was away last night and will be back around lunchtime. Bacon sandwiches for lunch and a roast chicken dinner this evening.

Got some gardening jobs to do later. I'm trying to raise the height of some shallow trays that sit outside my kitchen window so I can plant a wider range of things in them. A bit like a green roof, except they're on top of our boiler. They were a bit of an experiment two years ago and are definitely not deep enough for most things to get some proper roots down. Then I'm going to plant them up with muscari, narcissus, violas and campanulas.

Chateaudiaries · 19/02/2023 09:14

Ive been lazing in bed drinking tea but getting up soon to walk dog. Will get teens up and do a round of bacon sandwiches when I get back.

Will drop ds off for football match then back home as DD’s have an online Dutch lesson at 1pm.

Not sure what to do about dinner later, probably sausages, parsnips and mushrooms with something as all these things need using up :)

Decafflatteplease · 19/02/2023 09:19

Morning @lucysmam I think we are going to have to see these crochet creations!

Soft play party for one DC this morning. I'll have a nice chat with the other mums hopefully.

Then drop DC back at home, quick lunch for me then I need to head to town to pick up some flowers and a sympathy card for a friend whose has a bereavement and drop them off at her house.

Probably home mid afternoon and will just get a few pottering things around the house done, if swim stuff from yesterday is dry I'll get it repacked, we've started to repack asap now which makes it so much easier rather than hunting for swim stuff on the day! Also need to prep for school after half term eg polish shoes, pack bags etc.

Sausage roast dinner for tea here.

Then Sunday ritual of gin in the bath with waterproof kindle and an early night!

MissWings · 19/02/2023 09:19

Off to watch the lionesses play in the Arnold cup. England V Italy ⚽️.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 19/02/2023 09:20

Good morning Lucysmam and all. I'm having a spell of not sleeping well so I've been up for a couple of hours already. I'm about to make a slow cooker casserole which will bubble away all day. Then a crumble, if I get some butter. Later on I'm going to dgs1's birthday party at a local soft play. All I have to do is sit and watch and I'm very good at that!

LadyWithLapdog · 19/02/2023 09:21

I have a rare day of no plans. I’ll start the book for book club next week and go through my wardrobe and put some winter things away.

PP who is moving house. Do you hate the packing or the move?

BreviloquentBastard · 19/02/2023 09:21

Crochet broccoli?? Tell me more.

Just got back from a dog walk, husband is in bed with a hangover bless him, I'm sat on the sofa in my comfies choosing something to watch. Teen daughter has just come down and decided to make breakfast for the two of us of her own volition, so I'm looking forward to seeing what culinary creation I'll be having this morning!

Girlintheframe · 19/02/2023 09:34

Morning all

Had a rubbish nights sleep so not feeling 100%. Already had coffee and breakfast and just scrolling in bed.
Going to get moving soon and take dog for a long walk then back home and light the fire. Hopefully have a chilled afternoon reading then an early dinner of kippers and poached egg which I'm irrationally looking forward too. Then shower and out to work at 5pm.

Have a lovely day everyone

lucysmam · 19/02/2023 09:44

@Decafflatteplease I will pop up a photo of the rest when I find the Evil Pea. The girls have taken to hiding them in random places and I haven't found him yet this morning. This is broccoli so far @BreviloquentBastard, there are a few stitches of this floret left, and then two more to make.

Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

Oh my goodness that's adorable.

BG2015 · 19/02/2023 10:16

We're going to London until Tuesday

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/02/2023 10:19

We’re away for a few days from tomorrow so I’m nipping to M&S for a train breakfast picnic and an easy tea for tonight.

Then I’ll probably spend at least an hour dithering about what to wear/pack - I enjoy this!

Tonight will be a film and whatever easy tea I’ve chosen.

Valentina12 · 19/02/2023 10:20

Aww I’m desperate to learn to crochet but it just seems beyond me right now. That’s quite brilliant my kids love Supertato.

we are (apparently) having a very lazy start to the day. Kids lying on the living room floor in their pjs colouring in top model books and watching Octonaughts. I’m drinking coffee and mumsnetting, allowing my husband a lie in this morning lol. Probably go out on the bikes later on, Tesco for a few bits for tea, and we’ll watch the Masked Singer final at some point (we were out last night and missed it).

Kim82 · 19/02/2023 10:26

Morning! I’ve just got back from picking dd8 up from her sleepover and she’s gone straight out playing, dh is on the sofa slightly hungover and the two older ones are still asleep (as usual).

I’ve no big plans for today, going to stick the washer on in a minute then I’ll decide what to make for breakfast. I think dh plans to go to work for a couple of hours this afternoon once his sore head fades, Dd18 has her first driving lesson today, dd15 will no doubt go to the gym for a couple of hours and I need to pack my case today as I’m off to London in the morning for work and won’t be home until late on Wednesday evening (2 nights alone in a hotel room - absolute bliss!). We’re having a roast for tea tonight then dh will take dd8 to his mum’s where she’ll stay until Tuesday as it’s half term runs week but dh and I are both working.

I then plan on watching a few episodes of Peaky Blinders then will head off to bed.

Hedjwitch · 19/02/2023 10:26

Sleepless night so stil in bed with coffee and cat.
Off for an icy dunk in the sea later (Scotland) with some other random nutters.

Forgot to defrost the chicken for dinner so not sure what we are having.

Chevyimpala67 · 19/02/2023 10:29

Morning

Ds1 is studying

Dh is mooching about downstairs

Ds2 will be practising his audition pieces for the next show.

I intend to spend the day reading my pile of books 📚 🙃

daffodilandtulip · 19/02/2023 10:30

We did a lot of home improvements last year so every weekend was cleaning, organising or painting so so far this year, I have been revelling in very empty weekends.

DS is away so it's just me and 17yo DD doing college work in her room.

I've just cooked a full breakfast (probably only do this every couple of months) and I'm now drinking tea and considering a dog walk. Then it's a new book for the afternoon. We're not regular roast dinner people, I'm planning veg sausages with roasted veg for tea. Probably a nice long bath tonight.

Xiaoxiong · 19/02/2023 10:30

DH made us tea in bed and we talked for about 45 mins about his potential future plans to do some more training and maybe even a long term (10+ years) career change

Made pancakes with milk that is a week out of date (this always makes the best fluffy pancakes!) - ate with bacon, maple syrup, coffee

DS1 reading Dune, DS2 reading Tintin though I now hear the rustling of Lego

Still to come:
More laundry & packing sports bags for the week while listening to podcasts
Peloton workout
Music practice for the kids and DH and I will join in for a family practice
Walk in the sunshine
Make a side dish for Sunday lunch to bring round to our friends who have invited us for a roast
Finish my book which is so good I am sneaking away to read it on the loo
Early night as school starts tomorrow after half term

Giggorata · 19/02/2023 10:33

Good morning lucysmam and all,
I'm just about to cook a big brunch and then we're going to take some boxes to our storage.
We're going to watch some opera at the cinema tonight.
I'm not sure what's happening in between.

Simonjt · 19/02/2023 10:42

Last day of halfterm here, we were quite busy last week so we’re going to have a quiet day today. Our daughter started walking last week so we need to do a bit more babyproofing, she crawled once and never crawled again, so hopefully she is a bigger fan of walking.

As its Sunday and the last day of term we’re going to watch cartoons and treats for lunch.

I hope everyone has a nice Sunday.

IHeartGeneHunt · 19/02/2023 10:47

Morning! I should be at work but I've got some bloody virus and feel like I've been mangled. Just had a Freddo to cheer me up.
DD4 is watching cbeebies and decoupageing a little giraffe.
I'm on a diet, but tonight I'm getting takeaway because absolutely fuck it.

Bbq1 · 19/02/2023 10:49

Ooh, thanks @Lucysmam for reminding me it's Shrove Tuesday this week. Must get some batter etc today.
Been off the last week for half term (TA) and it's absolutely flown. I've spent the week catching up with family and friends, pottering and reading. I really enjoy my job but I'm not really ready to return, could do with another week off...
Anyway today.
Well, ds is getting ready atm for his job in our local music shop. Dh works nights but getting up at 11 as he's off tonight. We'll do a bit of shopping. Then later on dh will pop to the music shop to meet ds before he finishes and have a chat. I'll stay in and hoover round and mop the kitchen. Will phone or call in to see mum or she might call round for a cuppa. Haven't decided on tea yet but then it's tv this evening and bed! Quiet day!
