I've never done this before but I thought I'd save on the delivery fee. I didn't realise there'd be so many Amazon apps.

No
On IOS it's called Amazon and looks like an Amazon package

JayniSummers · 15/02/2023 21:05

No , It's not . This app is for a reward of gift cards for sharing receipts with amazon

Whyisitsososohard · 15/02/2023 21:05

You just need the official amazon app. I didn't realise there were others.

If you have the app on your phone, could you take a screenshot of it so I know what I'm looking for? Googling shows a brown app pic but that option doesn't show on my phone.

When you say in your shopping basket it says you need the Amazon Shopper App what do you mean? What are you actually trying to do? Are you wanting the thing you're buying to be delivered to an amazon locker instead of to your home? Is there no delivery charge for that? I have amazon prime so don't generally see delivery fees, but seems odd for locker delivery to be free.

There's more than 10 others on my phone

Yes, it's quoting me that locker delivery is free, home delivery has a charge obvs. And yes, it's saying I need the Amazon Shopper App but the pic above is what I see when I type that in the Play Store

Have you tried just searching for Amazon instead of Amazon Shopping?

Blueskies121 · 15/02/2023 21:18

It looks like this on a Samsung

I just use website Amazon and the locker option comes up on the delivery page.

I'm using a Samsung funnily enough. I need to download the app so that I can use it to open the locker. That brown logo doesn't show up for me. How bloody weird?

Typical, try to save a few pennies and hit a brick wall.

Yes. I can purchase via the website. But the website tells me to download the Amazon Shopper app to open the locker with bluetooth.

You don't need the app to open the locker, you'll get an email with a barcode in it once the item is delivered and then you scan that or type on a code and the locker opens.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 15/02/2023 21:29

This is what I get on my samsung

I collect parcels from a local Amazon locker regularly.

I just choose delivery to a locker at checkout and then i get an email when it's arrived with a barcode to scan or code to type in, which opens the locker.

Never heard of having to have a seperate app to open the locker, I certainly don't.

So has the item actually been sent to the locker? If yes, you get an email sent with the code to open the locker. You don’t need another app. The brown parcel one shown up thread is for shopping. If you already have that, you can access your messages and see a copy of the email that’s been sent with the code in.

LoveMAFS · 15/02/2023 21:32

I wonder if the lockers are not all the same? This is the message I get at the checkout:

Just done a bit of googling and seems some lockers do need Bluetooth and the Amazon app to open them. But the amazon app is just the standard app you use for ordering.

LoveMAFS · 15/02/2023 21:36

Well I'm stuffed then because the app doesn't show up on my phone for some reason I can't fathom. My phone is old, do you think that's why it doesn't show? It's an S7 but I do use apps on it.
