I'm just enjoying my first brew of the day, in silence. The fridge is humming away to itself & that's it.

I'm off into town with dd1, today, to pick up a couple of long sleeved tops for her upcoming PGL residential with school. She needs trainers too but I think her old ones can go with her and she can have new ones after.

When we get in, I'm going to make a start on a crochet Supertato for display at work & look up patterns for some of the other veggies. Evil Pea's already in the freezer 🤣

Dd2's making curry for tea so I'll supervise her prepping & cooking that, this evening. I'll probably have a glass of wine with mine.

Tonight will be either more crochet for me, or continue the series of books the girls gave me for my birthday. Dd1's in the middle of a new tv series, but I can't remember what, and dd2 will probably Minecraft with her friend in The Netherlands who's on half term this week too she thinks.

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning Lucysmam. That sounds like a busy day ahead for you. I'm on coffee number two. I've been awake for ages. Today I'm meeting a friend for breakfast and a catch up. Then it'll be washings, bathroom cleaning, polishing and hoovering. If I can be bothered, I'll get into the garden for a tidy. Salad for dinner. Have a good day.

It’s DD3s birthday today - 7. Naturally we’ve been up since 6am Grin She’s currently skating around the living room in her new roller skates, her sisters (16/14) are making cinnamon rolls as requested for her birthday breakfast.

I’m about to jump in the shower. A friend who has a small business is coming to set up her bedroom for her sleepover party (just two close friends - their mothers/my close friends are staying over too Wine)

At midday we have the birthday party of a school friend to go to, soft play, till 2pm.

I imagine more skating around the living room until she’s confident enough to go outside whilst I start dinner (she hasn’t decided what she wants yet!)

My weekends always feel dominated by ds sports. It was footie training last night and we are just about to leave the house for goal keeper training. I will walk the dog whilst he trains.
Dh and I are going out for an early Valentines dinner tonight though, so that will be nice.

Up since 4:30am with DD who is 5 months. DH is away at the conference this morning so I have the 2 DC until after lunch.

We’ve driven into town, just got takeaway coffees and croissants, and now I’m sitting in a playground while DS aged 4 plays. It’s 2 degrees Celsius and I’m freezing my arse off, but enjoying an empty playground and some peace and quiet while DD naps in the pram. My coffee was phenomenal- I forgot how much I love this coffee shop!

I hope everyone has a fabulous Saturday.

maybabymama · 11/02/2023 08:33

Morning! Im currently in bed with my DD feeling very surprised as she's still asleep (2 in May). Having got any plans but might go grab a coffee with my step mum later today and was thinking of taking myself out on a date as my ex will be taking DD for the rest of the weekend 👀

GimmeBiscuits · 11/02/2023 08:34

Cultural stuff with a friend. Walking around looking at some interesting buildings, an art gallery, lunch and a but of shopping. Maybe cocktails later.

EmptyPlaces · 11/02/2023 08:35

@MissyB1 that’s familiar; DD3 has a rugby match tomorrow morning, DD2 has gymnastics today and tomorrow but she’s old enough to hop a bus to and from now!

Simonjt · 11/02/2023 08:40

Good morning, its afternoon here, I’m in Australia for a funeral, well I was, I fly back today. My flight was supposed to be at 7pm perth time, but delays mean at the moments its due about 1am Perth time, so actually I fly back tomorrow.

I’ve checked in, I’ve passed security/had my suspicious brown bearded man random selection interview. I have to say this airport is a bit rubbish, the lounge was cheap, but now I know why, I think I’ve visited every shop at least twice. The only good thing is that the wifi is very very good, and due to the superbowl the last of us aired early, so I think I might watch that.

It’s sunny here and about 25 degrees, but the departures area past security doesn’t have any outdoor areas, not even a viewing deck.

thefinaltwist · 11/02/2023 08:42

I'm still in bed. I had a terrible nights sleep the night before due to a very painful bulging ear drum 😫so I'm a bit lazy today so far but think I will need to get up for painkillers soon.

I will pop to M&S in a while to get my mums shopping then drop it off and stay for a coffee.

Dh has to do something for work today and visit his gran in hospital. He also wants to pick up our weekly food shopping later but I would be happy with a treat takeaway 😋

Ds will probably draw, play his xbox or go out with friends. Only two days at school for him next week as its half term which I'm also looking forward to as it makes my work quieter. Last week was horrendously busy and the slower pace would very much be appreciated

troppibambini6 · 11/02/2023 08:47

Morning Lucy'smam hope evil pea is not too cold!

Just finished first coffee with dog1 asleep on me. Dog2 had his balls off yesterday so is feeling a bit sorry for himself and is sporting a rather fetching baby grow style outfit to stop him getting at his stitches.
I really need to get in the shower as I need to get to dds football. Ds1 and 2 have football with dh and dd1 I still in bed with her boyfriend as he stayed here after a party last night.

Helping my mum paint her spare bedroom this afternoon dh taking the boys for haircuts and to hopefully fix ds1s glasses but not holding out much hope.

I might get the Whitney Houston film on sky tonight as dh is out for dinner with mates.

This is how I would like my weekends to be!

Just waiting for our grown up daughters amazing carers to arrive to get her washed and dressed so we can go to the garden centre with her where we will hopefully help her choose some seeds to grow for the spring and summer. Feeling hopeful about today as she's recovering from a horrible infection

WaggyTailsWetNoses · 11/02/2023 09:15

These sound like lovely Saturdays!
so far I’ve steam mopped the kitchen, hallway and utility room, done 2 loads if laundry and unloaded the supermarket shop. I’ve also cleaned up the 2l of milk that fell out of the fridge and covered floor, walls ( and wellies) in the utility room. Yuk!

Dogs are out on a long trek with DH. Now off for a shower. Then we’ll have breakfast and DD and I are off to buy her some hiking boots for D of E.

I am hoping for a quiet afternoon, perhaps a bit of gardening, I have some work to do and it’s lamb souvlaki and the trimmings for supper. We are doing really well avoiding eating out or takeaways, are saving loads and still enjoying lovely food with a bit of planning ahead.

@pigwood this sounds wonderful 🥰 have a lovely day. As a parent to a child with complex needs I know sometimes it's the little things that mean the most 🙂

Decafflatteplease · 11/02/2023 09:24

Morning @lucysmam and all.

I'm feeling a bit fragile today, was in bed by 9.30 last night with a headache and sore throat. Slightly better today but still not 💯. I'll be fine though!

I'm the only one downstairs so far little ones playing upstairs, teens asleep of course.

Relaxed morning planned, half term here so no big weekend uniform wash to do thankfully!

I've got some vinted parcels to package and post and also more bits to list this morning.

This afternoon we are off to soft play with toddler as it's raining and we don't want to go outside. We are normally very outdoorsy but not feeling it today.

Teens are off into town with their friends this afternoon and evening so a quieter house this evening.

Trying to convince DH we need a takeaway tonight 😂 have drastically reduced them for money saving mission and only have them in school holidays now. It used to be every Saturday night how things have changed!

Have a lovely day all!

Kim82 · 11/02/2023 09:26

Morning everyone. It’s our usual Saturday morning here. Dh is at work, two older girls are still asleep so just me and dd8 are awake. I’ve made a start on the washing mountain and I’m just about to go and feed a neighbour’s cat as they went away last night.

I’ve no other plans for the day, my food shop is coming late today, between 1-2pm as I forgot to book my usual slot but that is the only thing I need to do today. Dd18 cleaned the house yesterday as she didn’t have to go into uni so I’ve no housework to do so I can just relax. No doubt dd8 will be out playing with her friends all day so it will be nice and peaceful. Fish, garlic new potatoes and veg for tea tonight, I’ll drop dd18 at work off later then will just sit in front of the tv until bedtime.

TalkinBaaaaht · 11/02/2023 09:32

Still in bed. Had tea, now having a coffee. Been browsing MN but need to get up soon. Everyone is out this morning doing various activities, so I’ve got the day to myself.

Meeting friends for lunch in central London then some other friends for a coffee en route home.

I’m going to binge watch series 2 of Slow Horses tonight when DH gets home.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 11/02/2023 09:33

Morning all.
DH is deployed this weekend so it's just me and the DCs.
I've had a coffee, put the shopping order away and the kids are playing with Lego and Duplo while watching Bluey.
We're off into town this morning to get new library books, a present for a party tomorrow, some bits that didn't come in our online shop and then I'll grab a coffee and the kids can play in the massive park in town.
This afternoon we'll probably chill at home and get some jobs done and maybe watch a film together with some snacks. I love Saturday!

Squaffle · 11/02/2023 09:38

Morning all! Enjoying a slow morning with DD as her swimming lesson has been cancelled. We’re cycling to the library this morning to stock up on books for half term, then we’ll probably snuggle up and read some before lunch.

She wants to bake brownies this afternoon and is working her way through all the Star Wars films with DH so they’ll do that later while I read the papers with a cuppa.

Need to do next week’s meal plan/online shop. Not sure about tea yet, possibly gnocchi, not feeling very inspired today! Have a lovely day all.

Chelsea26 · 11/02/2023 09:40

Still in bed with DP, he’s made a coffee so I guess it’s my turn to make one now - but I’m so snug I really don’t want to.

My boys are off ski-ing with their dad this week but we have DSD and DSS until Wednesday morning.

Have friends coming over for lunch today, no idea what I’m making for them yet- need to decide and then go to the supermarket.

Should really get a shifty on

Onefootinthegroove · 11/02/2023 09:41

Morning all. Been up for a couple of hours, done a bit of housework and awaiting a delivery of half a tonne of logs that DH and I need to stack.
Later this afternoon I will be taking the dog out but mainly catching up with family (,we live abroad) and reading as I've got 3 new books on my kindle. Back to work tomorrow.

jellybe · 11/02/2023 09:46

The plan was gym, pick up food shop then take the kids out this afternoon. However, have woken up feeling awful so am currently nursing a cup of tea in bed. Still hoping to get out with the kids and DH later like we had planned (they'll just go without me if not)

Film night tonight with eldest (13) not sure what yet she hasn't decided.

DH is hoping to not hear any rugby scores until he can catch up with it tonight once the younger two are in bed.

cptartapp · 11/02/2023 09:46

We're off to the IL's in Manchester for MIL birthday, made all the better by an impromptu joint visit from DS1 Who is up from uni in Nottingham this weekend on a night out! Haven't seen him since he went back after Xmas.
DS2 is working later. DH and I might get a takeaway tonight.

EllaVator · 11/02/2023 09:51

Morning @lucysmam!

I love the sound of the crocheted supertato! My DC loved that book when they were smaller.

I’m currently still in bed, drinking my second cup of tea of the day. DH brought breakfast up earlier, then took DDog to daycare for the day. He’s now headed out with DS1, so that DS1 can finally do the bungee jump we got him for his Christmas present in 2021!

DS2 and DD are snuggled together in DS2s bed, playing on the switch. Sounds like Mario kart to me. They haven’t played nicely together in ages and ages, so it’s lovely to hear them getting on.

I’m about to get in the shower and dressed, need to do a bit of light housework before DD and I head out for dinner and a show with friends this evening.

ssd · 11/02/2023 09:54

Hi @lucysmam , im off today, drinking tea and quietly watching tv whilst everyone sleeps in. I love a quiet morning. Not sure of todays plans, it looks a bit grey out there but hoping for a walk later.
Enjoy your day everyone Smile
