I have succumbed and bought an Oodie

I am just so sick of being cold! I can’t afford to have the heating above 15 degrees, my car heater doesn’t work, and it’s cold at work too. The only time I feel really warm when s in the shower!
so I have succumbed and bought an Oodie, and I feel like I am going to live in it, as attractive as that will be for dp. 😂
have you got one? Would love people’s opinions, good or bad…

DH appeared wearing DS3s black Sherpa fleece Kuddly the other day, I must admit that I laughed as my first thought was that he looked like Uncle Fester from the Adams Family film ( he's rather bald).

MaverickGooseGoose · 10/02/2023 11:47

Got one but have never worn it, it's too bloody hot. I'm in the SE though.

OsirisservesAnubis · 10/02/2023 11:48

I bought a cheap ass generic one from amazon. I love it!

user1471517095 · 10/02/2023 12:14

Oodie have a flash sale on today, some adult ones are (only) £54. I'm going to treat myself.

Newestname002 · 10/02/2023 12:21

I have several (not the real Oodi) from Amazon and LOVE them. Really came into their own when my central heating broke down. I have them in two different weights - the standard fleece ones and the "Sherpa/Shearling" ones which are a thick fleecey material inside. Two of them are ankle length which s great for relaxing in the sofa. I live in them. 🌹

Chickenvoicesinmyhead · 10/02/2023 12:23

I have a Kudd.ly and wear it when I wfh. No heating on and only need to wear jeans and a vest top underneath. Toasty all day.

Complete game changer particularly getting up as the heating isn't on first thing. I chuck it on after a shower it's so soft and warm.

DH thinks it looks hideous.... while he shivers 🙄

bizzey · 10/02/2023 12:40

I have a Kudd.ly one as well .
Bought 3 and a big weighted blanket in there offer before Christmas.
£109 .

Strange thing is ...I bought ds an oodie thing way before they became a thing.
At least 6 ish years ago.

Never thought much about it till this hype wave.

Was putting it in the wash last summer ( it had been washed before !)
And tried it on to see what the hype was ....

Well that was it !
Other 2 and I all have one !

Heating only really needs to go on now for a bit ....mainly for the pipes ,bricks and building !

bizzey · 10/02/2023 12:41

Hate when my ..." Their " gets changed to .." there " ..!!

bizzey · 10/02/2023 12:43

And I have to agree with PP ...
I get a little mini workout trying to put it on and take it off !🤣

Tinkerbyebye · 10/02/2023 12:47

Am sitting in mine now. Love it and am thinking of buying another. Did look at a M&S version, it’s rubbish and went back

Yorkshiregold · 10/02/2023 13:20

Got them for my children, felt jealous so got one for me too, I love it! The warmest softest cloud. I did see someone wearing an avocado one in yo sushi last week. I won’t wear mine out of the house (except camping like pp) but it is tempting!

Stressedoutmum27 · 10/02/2023 20:22

I received one for Christmas & love it!
Especially if ive been out in the cold soon as im home then its on & heats me up quickly!! Really notice it in the mornings too keeps me sooo toasty!
Although expensive i think they're majorly worth it xxx

DillDanding · 10/02/2023 20:25

They are an abomination. But they’re warm so that trumps looking like a patterned blob.

BrokeAsABone · 10/02/2023 20:27

I succumbed and bought one too and I never wear it. It's cumbersome for me...I have too much manual work to do. A total waste of money...a big, heavy, flappy lump I can do without

MagentaRocks · 10/02/2023 20:33

I’ve got 2 from Amazon, one full length, one knee length. DH has a full length. We love them, and it has made a massive difference in the amount of gas we use as we don’t need the heating on much. DH wfh, so our gas usage was getting ridiculous, we have cut it by at least a third now. We only have the heating on for the odd hour if really cold or the dogs have got wet and cold on walks.

Alfiesmom74 · 10/02/2023 20:33

I got bought one for Christmas and it’s amazing. It’s so soft and snuggly and just so comfortable. I know it was a gift but I would definitely have bought myself one. They are expensive but you get what you pay for.

DontMakeMeShushYou · 10/02/2023 20:36

LilLilLi · 10/02/2023 08:32

I got a Kuddly for Christmas which is basically the same as an Oodie and it’s a game changer.

Ive had my heating on much less, it’s so warm and cosy the only downside is it’s a struggle to take it off!

I got a Kuddly for Christmas too. It was a godsend as I spent most of the break feeling sorry for myself with Covid.

I'm wearing it right now 😄

GlassQueen · 10/02/2023 21:10

Double layered primark dupe here, absolutely love it. So toasty.

2023istheyearigetmyacttogether · 10/02/2023 21:12

I couldn't stand it! I somehow felt really claustrophobic in it. I also found it annoyingly wide and, despite being only 5'3", a bit too short. I gave it to a friend who loves it

WaitingForSunnyDays · 10/02/2023 21:15

I've got a Winthome one, and am so glad I bought it. Our house isn't as cold as some, but not warm and I am hugely appreciating how good it is. Now I just need to take it off for long enough to wash it...

IrisJoy · 10/02/2023 21:37

Lots of opinions. Thank you! I have already had notification that it’s been dispatched so will see if it feels too cumbersome. I am 5ft so it may well swamp me 😂

Genuinely the best thing I have EVER purchased!

BrummiMummi · 11/02/2023 00:10

ThreeRingCircus · 10/02/2023 08:13

I have two! A thick, proper Oodie then a thinner one from Dunelm. I also have a towelling one for when I get out of the shower as it's better than a dressing gown always coming undone!

Love them and when you're freezing cold they really help. Wouldn't wear it out of the house though although I'm tempted to take one when I go camping!

We take ours camping!

EastCoastDamsel · 11/02/2023 00:27

I bought one for each of is on a 2-4-1 deal around September/October £/so spent £80 on 4 Oodies.

Very well worth it. The kids live in theirs and DH and I both wear ours in the mornings and evenings in front of the Telly.

Not quite graduated to wearing mine at work ,(WFH) as worried about professionalism

CMOTDibbler · 11/02/2023 00:41

I got a Mud Daddy heated one (you plug in a power bank and there are 3 heating panels) and it is the most glorious item ever as you get the massive cuddly fleeciness plus added heat. As watching ds compete involves standing on windswept river banks for hours I am going to get a lot of use out of it
