Sad he has gone. What was your favourite song of his? So many wonderful songs, but my favourite has to be "Any Day Now".

Utter legend saw him a few years back with Joss Stone and others in London. A totally great night where he could still knock them right out of the park in his 90s.RIP Big Fella....

This whole era is so nostalgic. I was born in the 60s, as was my husband. We're sitting here loving it, but both becoming a little morose remembering our now lost parents.

I'm tearing up just reading this thread. 😥

One of my first memories is my mother singing Magic Moments about the house whilst going about her housewifely business (yes I'm old).

Another memory is of my cousin, older than me, reluctantly lending me just one single out of his treasured collection - turned out to be Twenty Four Hours from Tulsa.

His music was so sophisticated and cool, just like he was. Such a perfectionist - apparently Cilla took 33 takes to get Alfie to the standard BB wanted.

I don't think I have a favourite song - they're all brilliant - but Close to You is right up there, especially sung in the chocolatey voice of Karen Carpenter. The harmonies at the close of the song are amazing.

I was fortunate to have seen him live too.

There will never be another like him. Rip Burt. 😥
