I can’t see anything attached

Hohoholdthesherry · 09/02/2023 10:46

Well, you're really teasing us by not actually attaching the letter 😆

OldTrot · 09/02/2023 10:47

Might help mightn't it? Sorry!

‘For God’s sake, push the examination of Mr Kingston…?’

OldTrot · 09/02/2023 10:49

And the front of the letter ... you can see where it was stamped and sealed!

@electricmoccasins that's a very distinct possibility. This is a letter to a law firm so clearly Mr Wood wants him examined

’as you would ?name??? to prevent any further???? delay’

electricmoccasins · 09/02/2023 10:52

‘Longer delay’

TightFistedWozerk · 09/02/2023 10:53

2 line last word is vouchsafed. Possibly.

Just2MoreSeasons · 09/02/2023 10:55

I shall be unwilling to suppose the mother will be delayed any longer.

What a fabulous letter. Can you say any more about it?

electricmoccasins · 09/02/2023 10:55

’And let me know you have done it. I shall be unwilling to suppose that the matter will be delayed any longer’

OldTrot · 09/02/2023 10:56

It's matter isn't it? Not mother.
Good spot

Just2MoreSeasons · 09/02/2023 10:57

Ahh yes 'matter'

sleepwhenidie · 09/02/2023 10:57

First go:

Last bit of first para
…you have done it. I shall be unwilling to suppose that the matter will be delayed any longer.

then
As I shall soon be in London, I wish you would would xxxx. About the money..as I shall be again xxx about xxx. The time you mentioned xxx??…..your Uncle (?) and xxx I should be glad of it

OldTrot · 09/02/2023 10:58

@Just2MoreSeasons just some pointless hobby I have really! 😀 I buy old bits and pieces for a pound or two and I then decipher them. I wrote out what the letter says, put it with the letter and then file it. Some letters give lots of info so you get to research the person/ area

Nothing ever current. I don't poke about in anything newer than about 1920 and I prefer older

Most of the letters / postcards I can figure out but I've started posting a couple on here that stump me

It's just social history really but I recommend anyone do it as A it's cheap and B it's quite interesting

'As I shall be in London...about the money - as I shall be again..about..mother...The time you mentioned...is now come. If I can't satisfy your uncle and ..he pushes (?) I should be glad of it.'

Fascinated by this one. Got the magnifying glass out to try and decipher it. Sounds like a dispute of some sort and the writer is getting hacked off.

sleepwhenidie · 09/02/2023 11:01

For Gods Sake push the xx xx off Mr [name] in the xx you want xx xx- so as to prevent any longer delays and xx xx knows you have done it.

BenCoopersSupportWren · 09/02/2023 11:02

The time you mentioned last year is now come?

OldTrot · 09/02/2023 11:02

Dear Sir

For God sake - push the examination of Mr <possibly Kingdom> in the way you want ??? so as to prevent any further delay and ? me knows you have done it -- I shall be unwilling to suppose that the matter will be delayed any ?

There are some translation Apps that you can get for your phone, that you take a photo of the document and it will translate the text for you... not sure if this will work for you?

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 09/02/2023 11:04

'in the way you want to be satisfied - so to prevent any longer delay and let me know when you have done it. I shall be unwilling to supposed that the matter will be delayed any longer.'

Just2MoreSeasons · 09/02/2023 11:04

I love it! Interesting hobby for sure.
Second line up from the bottom - does it start 'justify your Uncle and ? Wishes...
