Could you recommend me a hoover?

Exceptionally dull topic, but our cordless Dyson has broken and we need another.

We have cats, some carpets and some floorboards, and several long-haired occupants. Would prefer a cordless, but the battery life and general lifespan of the Dyson was pretty appalling, so it’s not a must-have if they’re all similar.

Anyone have any recommendations?

I love my Shark cordless vac.

I would avoid Vax though. Had one before my Shark and it was dire.

My parents have a Meile for decades. Are the newer ones as durable?

We had the Dyson for less than 3 years before it started having issues, which was a big waste of money.

Another vote for Miele - we’ve had ours at least 12 years and going strong.

I’ve replaced a few external parts over the years, but they’ve been easy to buy, and far cheaper than replacing the entire vacuum cleaner.

I’d definitely buy another if/when this one gives up the ghost!

I've had my Miele cordless for a few years and it's still as good as new, the suction is great and it's so convenient. I also have a corded Miele and it's still in full working order after about 12 years.

I always used to say Miele but the motor on the latest one did not last only about 18 months - so annoyed

Shark, anti hair wrap. Game changer. I got a corded one, I just find them easier to not faff charging. It's super powerful. Cable is awesomely long. Folds up small, lightweight, it picks up an amazing amount. The hair wrap thing tho is genius.
Very happy with my choice.
I've had a Miele cat n dog previously and this is better.

Too bloody right. I've had 2 Miele cat and dog. Motors burned out. Newborn babies are less delicate than a Shark. Henry all the way!
