Could you recommend me a hoover?

Exceptionally dull topic, but our cordless Dyson has broken and we need another.

We have cats, some carpets and some floorboards, and several long-haired occupants. Would prefer a cordless, but the battery life and general lifespan of the Dyson was pretty appalling, so it’s not a must-have if they’re all similar.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Miele has lasted me 10 years. Still going string.

Another vote for Henry. Honestly I've tried them all and even those that atry out well simply don't match up to good old Henry. He's reliable, does the job and you can get extra long hose ones which solves the stairs issue.
