I suffer from SAD.So seeing daffodils I planted peeping up now, slightly longer days and just sorting through my brighter spring clothes cheers me up.
Easter bits and spring stuff in the shops too.😁
What are you excited about.
Before anyone say s it I know we have some cold weather ahead still.

Definitely the daffodils !! A few of mine have heads already.

Might start weeding next weekend as it's a bit out of control, I can't wait for the lighter evenings to fully kick in. So glad winter is behind us 🥳

Literally!

Definitely the daffodils. They make me smile every year 🌼 (I know that isn't a daffodil -it was the closest thing I could find).

Always4Brenner · 05/02/2023 18:13

Nights lighter flowers son in the gardens here. Next month the clocks go forward. Must start looking for summer duvet.

whatisforteamum · 05/02/2023 21:01

Also a delicious Apple hot cross bun would go down well.

Nice thread OP! Snow drops are just starting to flower - they make me so happy! Crocuses and Tulips coming up too. Primroses are thinking about flowering too. Must get some hellebores for some winter flowering.

coodawoodashooda · 05/02/2023 21:36

Opening up the garden.

Seaitoverthere · 05/02/2023 21:38

My first daffodil starting opening today and nought a camellia and have a few hellebores on order. Am already enjoying the slightly longer days.

bluejelly · 05/02/2023 21:42

I love the first time you can sit in the garden or the park with a cup of coffee or tea and feel the warmth on your skin. Also, leaving work and it's light.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 05/02/2023 21:45

I have a chair in the garden and this morning I sat out in the sun with a coffee - first time this year! Lovely. Like you, I love to see the flowers come out. Pussy willows, and the magnolia buds are coming too.

Silkierabbit · 05/02/2023 21:47

Went to Orchid Festival at Kew that was nice on Saturday.

Welfast · 05/02/2023 21:49

Blossom on the ornamental cherry trees should be out soon

EmpressaurusOfWitchesBackFromTheDead · 05/02/2023 21:49

I sat outside my local park cafe in the sun this morning, having a coffee & enjoying the snowdrops & celandines.

MaverickGooseGoose · 05/02/2023 21:49

Had it today, the sun was so warm in my sun trap garden, apart from that leaving work and it being twilight, I love it.

Shunkleisshiny · 05/02/2023 21:50

Our village churchyard has snowdrops starting to pop up, and they are a very welcome sight indeed!

BrewandBiscuit · 05/02/2023 21:51

My greenhouse! Pottered around in there today and it warmed me and my heart.
I feed the birds too and I sat watching some of them doing their courting dances. So lovely

dudsville · 05/02/2023 21:51

Ooh, we had sun. It never occurred to me to sit outside with a coffee, how lovely! I will remember to do this tomorrow.

For me it's hearing the birds at dawn, the changing smell of the air, a neighbour cut their lawn this weekend. Today i was able to open all the windows and give the house a good airing.

pigsinoodies · 05/02/2023 21:54

I spotted a whole roadside verge of fully flowering daffodils yesterday. It really cheered me up.

I only saw my first snowdrops last week so the daffs are a bit ahead of themselves.

Being on the bluebells though.

Noeyeclare · 05/02/2023 21:55

Not having to wear a winter coat every day!

CeriB82 · 06/02/2023 06:51

Definitely daffodils! I spent £6 on 6 bunches on Friday and they are already in full bloom! DD isn’t well and coming home for some TLC today and i have a bunch in her room. They smell divine!🌼

my flock of sheep will lamb in april. I have new wax melts to burn, and a week in Center parcs to look forward to

Oblomov23 · 06/02/2023 06:55

Daffodils from the supermarket @ £1 make me happy.

Beezknees · 06/02/2023 06:55

Yes, lighter evenings and daffodils! I know we can get very cold weather in February through to March but leaving work and it not being pitch dark is great.

ThreeRingCircus · 06/02/2023 08:01

I love seeing the bulbs starting to pop up or bloom too.

Getting back out into the garden to start tidying things up a bit. It's nice feeling that all the warm weather this year is still ahead of us and I look forward to being outside more.

Not having to wear my big coat, gloves, scarf, hat etc. Just being able to get away with wearing a coat for now but I know we've got some cold weather on the way.

123ZYX · 06/02/2023 08:11

The sun now sets just late enough that it's dusk as I collect my son from his after school club and it's timed exactly right to see a huge murmuration of starlings as we're driving home. Last week we did a slight diversion in the way home to see it more closely.
