I suffer from SAD.So seeing daffodils I planted peeping up now, slightly longer days and just sorting through my brighter spring clothes cheers me up.
Easter bits and spring stuff in the shops too.😁
What are you excited about.
Before anyone say s it I know we have some cold weather ahead still.

I saw two swans flying just above some bungalows the other day, I’ve also heard lots of geese. Spring is coming !

TeamadIshbel · 06/02/2023 08:14

Spring walking in the parks full of bulbs coming to life, the different smell in the air, open windows, getting out some overly optimistic linen clothes, packay away the biggest jumpers. Sitting in garden with a coffee and feeling bright and breezy.

KangarooKenny · 06/02/2023 08:17

I’m looking forward to getting my washing back on the line

MrsDoyle351 · 06/02/2023 08:27

Nice thread - thanks OP

I have a bunch of flowering daffodils on windowsill - courtesy of Aldi

Lots of snowdrops in the garden. And yes yes to lighter evenings!

megletthesecond · 06/02/2023 08:39

My forsythia is about to spring into life and masses of yellow blossom.

Farmersweeklyreader · 06/02/2023 08:40

We are awaiting the arrival of our lambs. I love lambing time. I can’t help with the lambing this year as I am pregnant but will get to supervise the goings on in the lambing field from my living room window😀

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 06/02/2023 09:35

Several mimosa trees in a row near here are already starting to come out, and will soon be in full flower. And a wide grassy verge I pass on the way to a mini Sainsbury’s will soon have masses of crocuses and violets.

@123ZYX , I’m envious of the murmuration! Would love to see one - only on TV so far.

whatisforteamum · 06/02/2023 15:23

Oh yes I forgot about lovely lambs everywhere.Drying washing on the line will be fantastic after a winter of little heating and wondering how to dry the washing.
Spring days seem to bring hope somehow.
Seeing neighbours rather than scurrying indoors too.
I cannot wait.😁

Cerib82 I hope your dd recovers quickly.

Thanks ❤️ Getting the treatment she requires now so fingers crossed

Snow drops coming out, buds swelling on the trees, bird song earlier and a bit more light in the sky as I walk home from work.

It felt warm and dry enough to be in the garden this weekend.

Shinyandnew1 · 07/02/2023 10:48

What a lovely thread! Definitely love seeing all the bulbs come up.

I’ve had a few loads of washing on the line, which always helps my mood and even mowed the lawn last week! I hate going to work when it’s dark and coming home when it’s dark so looking forward to the lighter mornings.

DomesticShortHair · 07/02/2023 10:55

Bank holidays.

MrsSkylerWhite · 07/02/2023 10:56

Crocuses in the woods. Grandchild playing in the garden. Walking along the front without having sand blown into my face.

OnMyWayToSenility · 07/02/2023 10:58

There is a small tree on my walk to work and it had blossom appearing this morning! Lovely

OnMyWayToSenility · 07/02/2023 11:00

Think I'll treat myself to a witch hazel tree/shrub this year, as they flower early and smell amazing

Our house is tiny so really looking forward to having the garden to go in every night, it’s like another room to us! Sitting out eating tea & drinks on warm nights!

Not looking forward to mowing & weeding every week!

Gufo · 07/02/2023 11:12

I've got crocuses (croci?) flowering in the garden and lots of other bulbs poking up - was my future friend back in Autumn when I planted a whole load.

Like PP, getting the washing back out and relegating the expensive tumble dryer again.

Going for walks after work - I know I can do this in winter, but it's much safer and more pleasant when light and dry.

Yayyayitsaholiholiday · 07/02/2023 11:13

I love seeing the first baby water birds. 🙂

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 07/02/2023 11:14

Baby chicks and baby lambs.

lovescats3 · 07/02/2023 11:21

Lovely thread thanks OP. Saw some daffodils had come up on a walk at the weekend

whatisforteamum · 07/02/2023 15:27

It was lovely on the school run having a bit of sun this afternoon. Looking forward to sorting the gardens out when it gets a bit warmer.

'Not having to wear a winter coat every day!'

This! I actually love Winter but I am getting incredibly bored of having to put on scarf, coat, thick socks and boots to leave the house. Light jacket and trainers days are coming ☺️
