When a contestant on a quiz show (The Chase?) hadn't heard of him, didn't he get some 'I dont even know who lewis capaldi is' shirts printed and wore one?

I absolutely love his music, sense of humour and may just have a teeny tiny bit of a crush on him.

Yes! It was Who Wants To Be A Millionaire! I have one of the hoodies 😂

MrsScrubbingbrush · 05/02/2023 17:23

@keri17 you've got to love the man who does something like that!

Screwedupworld · 05/02/2023 17:26

He’s so funny. Quite happy to take the mick out of himself and seems a genuinely nice guy. His TikTok is brilliant.

the80sweregreat · 05/02/2023 17:27

His alright , although my sons are not keen on his music , they think it's funny that I like his style of singing and self deprecation

Crimsonripple · 11/04/2023 21:34

I'm totally crushing on Lewis Capaldi at the moment. He's hilarious and I'm finding him strangely attractive particularly after his latest documentary and dealing with his tics.

I love him. I love his music (and I really don't like that genre of music usually) he's SO funny, hardworking, seems so sweet to his fans, down to earth and incredibly cute.
YesnI do have a crush on him 😳

Snap - major crush too!

ZeroFucksGivenToday · 11/04/2023 21:38

The Netflix documentary (or maybe prime or Disney! Helpful!) he's done is great. You can really see his anxiety/tics come out the more stressed he is, but he seems just a normal guy, he really struggles with imposter syndrome too.

I think he's fabulous. May also be crushing a little bit on him too.

Yes netflix, really enjoyed it too, seems a really down to earth guy!

Even when he got that email from Elton John he still didn't really believe his brilliance. I can imagine the pressure is so much more after his success which was just songs written for pleasure in his room and then riding on the fun that came from that! It starts getting serious and not wanting to be a one album wonder. I saw on his latest instagram feed that his tics got uncontrollable at a gig last night but the crowd sung and helped him finish. That I love and hope shows the love and support there is for him,

He's just brilliant!

ssd · 11/04/2023 23:10

Hes brilliant

Willmafrockfit · 16/04/2023 11:12

he seems so lovely,
just watching his Netflix documentary also

I've met him a few times socially, as he's mates with the (much younger) bassist in my band! They went to college together.

Really nice guy, very funny and genuine. Just a wee Weegie boy working hard.

We don't agree on music, though. 😄

Isn't he from Bathgate?

Anyway I really like him he's 1 of the boys that would have been "a character" at school 😄

determinedtomakethiswork · 16/04/2023 11:23

There is a great diary of a CEO podcast where Stephen Bartlett interviewed him.

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 16/04/2023 11:27

I watched the Netflix documentary last night, it was not what I was expecting at all. It was really emotional watching him struggle. His family are amazing. His music isn't really my thing but what a talent he is.

museumum · 16/04/2023 11:29

I know some kids in bands where he grew up and apparently he’s super supportive and always gives new up and coming bands opportunities to support etc.

emmylousings · 16/04/2023 11:38

I don't love his music, but I love him. I love how vulnerable he is prepared to be, in what he reveals about himself and in his lyrics and the pressures of success. He's a sweetheart!

Crabwoman · 16/04/2023 12:06

He has a pizza range in Iceland and it's really good (for a frozen pizza).

Jewel1968 · 16/04/2023 12:10

I was only vaguely aware of his songs but watched the doc on Netflix where he talks a lot about Touretttes. My little one has the same issues and omg it was so good to see someone showing us how Touretttes impacts him and frankly giving some hope. Also showing that Touretttes is not just about verbal tics.

His mum and dad seemed lovely and I so related to their discussion about whether to ignore or draw attention.

His singing ain't half bad either

LlynTegid · 16/04/2023 12:34

Not to my musical taste, though I hope his public acknowledgment about having Tourette's is of support to many others with the condition.

Fireblanket · 16/04/2023 12:36

I didn't really know much about him until I watched the Netflix documentary, and like everyone else I am now an utter fan (not so much over the music, though, but I can appreciate his talent).
My main takeaway from the documentary, though, was the unimaginable pressure the music industry place on artists. it was good to see him being 'allowed' to take a break, but, as he says, the pressure of everyone who's riding on his coattails must be immense. I really hope he manages to remain healthy throughout it all.

Willmafrockfit · 16/04/2023 13:04

such a pressure in the music business,
i really wish him well

Hopeandglory · 16/04/2023 14:34

Saw him at Camp Bestivel some years ago, short dumpy guy (his description of himself). As he started singing all the hairs on my arm stood up, the most beautiful voice I have heard live for years, coupled with a lovely sense of humour and a love of 'doing his thing'

NannyGythaOgg · 16/04/2023 14:54

HaroldTheStallion · 04/02/2023 20:06

I love him so much. Have you seen his video homage to wham club tropicana? It's amazing

That's brilliant - thanks for sharing

icebearforpresident · 16/04/2023 15:35

I would rather stick pins in my eyes than listen to his music but I think he’s brilliant, looking forward to watching the documentary.

danceyourselfdizzy1 · 16/04/2023 15:43

He's a great guy, and all credit to him for laying bare his mental health struggles in the documentary.
