If so could you tell me how often you need to charge it and what model it is?

Im looking at buying one but the 18 hours before it needs recharging is putting me off.

I have an older one, a series 3. I put it on in the morning, usually around 6 am, and pop it on the stand at night, usually 10 pm. I can't say I've noticed any trouble with battery life!

chipsandpeas · 03/02/2023 16:55

i have a series 5 and need to charge it approx every 18 hours, i do sleep with mine on for the sleep monitoring but if i didnt id stick it on charge at night
normally ill stick it on charge in the evenings when im just sitting on the sofa

Abraxan · 03/02/2023 16:55

I put mine in when I get ready for work, around 7am and take it off in an evening between 5-12pm usually.I charge it overnight. It's never in 0% at that point.

I've just checked and mine is currently at 74% I put it on just after 7am.

Think mine is a series 4.

PollyEsther · 03/02/2023 16:55

Similar, mine is a series 5 I think. I have a charger unit thing next to the bed that phone, watch and airpods go on overnight from around 10/11 until 6/7am. Battery life is fine. It charges quickly too.

I know it can sleep track but I can't be bothered with that function. If I wanted to use it, I'd probably pop the watch on charge when I sat down in the evening to relax before bed instead.

PaterPower · 03/02/2023 16:57

i didn’t buy either of mine brand new, but I’ve had a 3 and now a 4.

The life on the 3 had got to the point it wasn’t lasting a full working day (ie 10-12 hours). The 4, at the moment, is lasting through.

I think some of it will depend on how active you are, how much you use things like the sports tracking or the remote control features etc.

I like it, but there’s nothing (that I regularly use) which I couldn’t get from the cheapest fitness tracker

GinIronic · 03/02/2023 17:00

I have a series 7 and I charge it overnight. I don’t track my sleep etc. For reference - I have worn it since 9 am and the battery level is currently 81%.

Kangarude · 03/02/2023 17:01

Series 8. I wear it through the day and every night. I charge it every evening when I'm just sitting. An hour and it's fully charged

TheFlis12345 · 03/02/2023 17:11

I’m also considering getting one (can get it virtually free with Vitality health insurance) but I would want it to track my sleep like my Fitbit does so charging overnight wouldn’t work.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 03/02/2023 17:13

I've got a series 8. I charge it while I'm showering every morning.

Blueuggboots · 03/02/2023 17:17

I've got a series 7. It's been on my arm since 6am and is currently at 63%. I tend to charge it overnight.

SoulCaptain · 03/02/2023 17:20

No idea what series mine is but it's new (got it for xmas) and the short battery lift is a PITA - needs to be charged every day although doesn't take too long to fully charge. In contrast to my old faithful Fitbit which would last 2 weeks and had more functionality IMHO. If I had to choose between them it would be Fitbit every time

TokyoSushi · 03/02/2023 17:32

I have a new SE, I got it at Christmas, I put it on about 7am and take it off about 11:30pm and pop it on the charger, it usually has around 60% battery left

TheFairyCaravan · 03/02/2023 17:37

I’ve got a Series 8. I wear it all day and through the night. I charge it in the evening, it only takes an hour or so.

Oblomov22 · 03/02/2023 17:45

Dh bought his last month. He's liking it. A good 18 hours I think.

Mol1628 · 03/02/2023 17:45

New SE.

Put on at 6am it’s currently on 78%. I charge every night by my bed it’s not a problem.

WeWereInParis · 03/02/2023 17:46

I put mine on at 7am and it's at 65%. I just charge it overnight and it's never a problem.

HitTheRoadJackAndDontYouComeBack · 03/02/2023 17:48

I know you're not asking for alternatives, but I switched from an Apple Watch to a Garmin and it's amazing. Would never go back. Lasts almost a week without charging too.

FfeminyddCymraeg · 03/02/2023 17:49

I think I have a 7? It’s less than a year old anyway. The charging isn’t so bad - it takes hardly any time at all (less than an hour or so).

CleaningOutMyCloset · 03/02/2023 17:55

I take it off every night and charge it overnight. My current watch is a series 6, before that I had a series 2. I won my first one through work, wouldn't have ever bought one, but o wouldn't be without it now.

crochetmylifeaway · 03/02/2023 18:01

I have a 5 and wear it all the time including overnight. I charge it in the morning while I'm having breakfast. By the time I'm washed and dressed it's charged and ready to go.

MisgenderedSwan · 03/02/2023 18:07

I have a 5 year old 3 series and put it on at 7am every morning. It's still at 53% now after receiving messages, calls, emails and doing 2 workouts today. I think it is brilliant and unlike other apple products has not aged badly.

Sausagis · 03/02/2023 18:15

Series 6 - I can get 1.25 days out of it (27 ish hours maybe), so I charge it every night. If I turn it off at night but don't charge it then it will see me through to the afternoon but won't do 2 full days.

ManyNameChanges · 03/02/2023 19:21

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 03/02/2023 17:13

I've got a series 8. I charge it while I'm showering every morning.

So That’s really quick to charge?

ManyNameChanges · 03/02/2023 19:22

Thank you all.
It seems that it’s nowhere as bad as I envisioned. I want to wear it at night so it looked like I would have to charge it twice a day but from what you are all saying, it won’t be the case.

Thank again 😊😊

I’ve got an SE and it lasts a good day and a half. I like the sleep facility so I don’t usually charge at night unless I’ve forgotten to put it on. I charged it first thing, put it on about 8am and it’s still at 75%
