Hi all,

Having a crappy day today (after a crappy week) and want to watch a rom-com tonight with a bottle glass of wine.

Anyone got any suggestions? Don't mind if they're new or old. Bonus points if they're available on Prime, Netflix or Disney.

I love Mamma Mia, Crazy Stupid Love and Friends with Benefits, but I've watched them all recently.

Thank you!

He’s just not that in to you - This is 40 - Knocked Up - Most things directed by Judd Appatow

My best friends wedding
The sweetest thing (more 'edgy')
Never been kissed

I watched Random Encounters the other night. It's a load of old rubbish but I enjoyed it. Meghan Markle is in it but not the lead as Prime would have you believe.

Leap Year - dreadful in many ways but love both leads (especially Matthew Goode) and the gorgeous scenery

Working Girl

An absolute classic. Never get tired of watching it.

”Cawfee, tea or me?” 😂

And as a tween I loved the opening scenes with all the women going to work in Manhattan with their trainers on, and Carly Simon singing Let the River Run.

Three Men and a Baby is a fun one from that era.

babyjellyfish · 27/01/2023 19:24

Another vote for Sweet Home Alabama.

DaVariance · 27/01/2023 19:25

Yes, and the total 'yay' moment when SW gets her comeuppance!

OriGanOver · 27/01/2023 19:31

What's the film with Jennifer Anistan where they go to mexico to smuggle drugs in a camper van and pretend to be a family? That's a good one.

Not rom com as such, but The break up is one of my faves that hasn't been mentioned.

BoringLittleMe · 27/01/2023 19:32

My Big Fat Greek Wedding is my go-to when I'm feeling down, followed by View From The Top, the two Miss Congeniality films and Two Weeks Notice.

UselessExLondoner · 27/01/2023 19:33

Thank you for all the ideas! Not picked one yet... just watching trailers at the moment. Kids will be going up to their beds in a bit, so will have to pick one soon!
