Favourite cheesy rom-coms!

Hi all,

Having a crappy day today (after a crappy week) and want to watch a rom-com tonight with a bottle glass of wine.

Anyone got any suggestions? Don't mind if they're new or old. Bonus points if they're available on Prime, Netflix or Disney.

I love Mamma Mia, Crazy Stupid Love and Friends with Benefits, but I've watched them all recently.

Thank you!

Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Another for Forgetting Sarah Marshall or 27 Dresses.
Not a rom com but I love pitch perfect if I'm having a crappy day, it goes well with wine 😁

You've Got Mail is the GOAT of romcoms

Also highly recommend The Object of my Affection if you can find it anywhere.

Isn't It Romantic is full on cheesy rom com which you'll either love or hate.

ItsJustASimpleLine · 27/01/2023 17:06

No strings attached is the same as friends with benefits, I like both but no strings attached is my favourite.

I'd also recommend Going the Distance.

Anything with Julia Roberts

Oh yeah I loved Isn't it romantic! Had never heard of it and stumbled across it by accident on Netflix.

A Lot Like Love is my fave, less well known, rom-com with Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet. Annoyingly I can't see it on the main streaming platforms at the moment. It's so good, we are due a rewatch.

VaccinistaToteBagChicBaristas · 27/01/2023 17:42

I love It's Complicated if you want slightly older protagonists

theoldhasgone · 27/01/2023 17:44

Really liked Set It Up (about two personal assistants in NYC trying to matchmaker their bosses). 😁

The Sure Thing - especially if you like John Cusack

Say Anything - as above

While you Were Sleeping - still a great film even though it doesn’t have John Cusack in it! Great script and Sandra Bullock is fab.

Can't beat the absolute classic of Strictly Ballroom. So utterly daft but incredibly sweet.

Easter Parade.

It's available on iplayer I think.
