HELP! Lost passport!

Lollipop999 · 22/01/2023 00:02

If you have ever lost one, presumably in the house somewhere, where did you find it?

Going away in 2 months, cannot find dd16 passport but have all the other family ones in the same drawer. Last went away in July as a family. Usually keep them all together when we go anywhere.

Think we may have taken it to register for a college place in August but presumably brought it home and put it back in drawer as it’s not in my or her bag, or loose anywhere on worktop etc.

Any help gratefully received or ideas!

Have you tried asking St Antony?

He always find my stuff

watcherintherye · 22/01/2023 00:05

In the scanner/copier?

justasking111 · 22/01/2023 00:05

It'll be in with her university bumph. They get loads of stuff in carrier bags etc

watcherintherye · 22/01/2023 00:05

Don’t know why that was in bold!

NoInvitesEver · 22/01/2023 00:05

Was it used for age ID by him? Like at cinema.
If you have a printer/copier check under the lid.

bert3400 · 22/01/2023 00:06

You can get a replacement by making an appointment at your nearest passport office. It's not cheap ( £180) for a same day service. My son did this recently

StillWantingADog · 22/01/2023 00:06

Mine had fallen down the back of a bookcase.
I found it about 6 months after I needed it 🥴

Toomanybirthdays · 22/01/2023 00:07

Drawers in main cupboard in lounge ,in a slip envelope where paperwork is kept.car glove pocket ,bedroom, bag belonging to daughter …it will turn up ,but if not only wait for another couple of weeks before reapplying..good luck 💐

watcherintherye · 22/01/2023 00:08

Does dd have a desk? Might be shoved somewhere in there in amongst other papers.

Ditzydaisychain · 22/01/2023 00:08

Mine once had jammed itself in the top of my drawer. So I kept opening the drawer and not finding it, but once I took the drawer out I was able to see it had jammed itself into a little gap between the drawer and the table top.

Tulipmonster · 22/01/2023 00:21

Mine was under some books on the shelf below the drawers where they’re supposed to live. One day toddler DD “helpfully” removed the books from the shelf and this turned out to be genuinely helpful as there was my missing passport!

EdHelpPls · 22/01/2023 00:24

Another vote for taking drawers out in case it slipped down the back!
If not, any school trips that she needed to take it to school for?

Did you definitely have it when you got home from last trip?.
Airport staff somehow lost my DDs (flying unaccompanied minor)

Eas1lyd1stracted · 22/01/2023 00:24

Slid behind/ down the back of the unit where the drawer is located?

ProbablyRomanticised · 22/01/2023 00:26

I found my son's in an envelope with some school stuff. Must have needed it to register for something. By the time I found it, I had, of course, bought a replacement.

LaFlottes · 22/01/2023 00:32

Glove box of car? For safe keeping on the way back from college registration?

Other handbags?

Old school bag?

VirginiaQ · 22/01/2023 00:33

Did she have her passport when you went on holiday and she's left it in the 'holiday bag' she took? Sometimes you put it in a pocket on the outside of the bag for easy access at the airport then forget to take it out when you get home?

goshdoyoumeantobsorude · 22/01/2023 00:38

Go to the draw you think it was in, take the draw out and look between the drawer and the wall and the floor.

it is there somewhere.

If all else fails we got one back in 3 weeks.

Same here!

HeavenIsAHalfpipe · 22/01/2023 00:49

Down the back of a drawer?

Usually most stuff I lose is there! Behind one of about 20 drawers in my house. There are very few other places a passport would be.

Who is St Antony and how can he find everyone's lost stuff? Confused

Anotheranonymousname · 22/01/2023 01:08

Did she get an envelope containing GCSE results? If so, check in that as the results sheet may also have been needed to register for college.

Lollipop999 · 22/01/2023 07:21

Thanks will try these and update!

This ^ happened to me too, all of our passports together with one missing, pulled out the drawer it had slipped behind. Check again OP 🤞

Deathraystare · 22/01/2023 08:43

Too late I had already cancelled mine but found it later in a backpack in my wardrobe!

Sauropodlet · 22/01/2023 10:05

I once found a previous tenant’s passport under the sofa cushion.

justasking111 · 22/01/2023 10:08

When I bought dollars I used my passport. Ditto solicitors, estate agents, bank, it's much easier to mislay them these days
