Hi all,

Am at my wits end with DH's snoring. Have tried to find a pair of earplugs but I'm a slide sleeper with small ears so have been struggling. Can anybody recommend a good pair?

Thanks Smile

Hearos Ultimate Softness are by far the best I've ever used. They're really soft and, when fitted correctly, give incredible noise isolation.

To be honest they're too good and I don't feel safe using them with young kids in the house - I know I'd never hear them, or the smoke alarm, in an emergency.

I agree with the spare room! Seriously life-changing (in a good way)!

I use similar silicon earplugs to catonlapfireon but from Boots. They are good. But I also sleep in spare room if he is tired/has had a drink/has a cold. However I now need earplugs to sleep wherever I am even if sleeping alone. It's like the feeling in my ears is a habit.

I would love to get earplugs. DH is sleeping in the spare room for the last 3 weeks as his snoring is so bad.

I'm a little nervous though, can you heard anything? I would be nervous that I would not hear the kids or the alarm or phone, etc

Once asleep I tend to sleep heavily so I already miss the kids calling out, it usually takes a call or two before I wake up.

The issue with the snoring is that once the snoring wakes me I can’t get back to sleep. So if I’m woken at 2am that’s it for the night, no more sleep. Earplugs feel like a very attractive opinion but a little unsettling.

The cheap foam earplugs from boots are bloody brilliant

My OH uses Hush Plugz silicone earplugs. They come as little cylinders about the size of a £1 coin and you can use as much or as little as you need.

I’ll second/third? the Boots Silicone ones. Not expensive and comfortable and do the job. Husband has sleep apnoea and snores like a hog 😱

If you or your partner snore, please consider having a sleep study. I've snored for years and it was finally taken seriously. Transpired I stopped breathing 32 times, for 30 seconds, every hour. I had no idea it was that bad.

I now have a sleep apnea machine, DH no longer has to suffer or wear earplugs and my health is slowly improving. Weight is reducing, blood pressure dropping, mood has improved. Sleep apnea can be a slow killer and increase the risk of stroke and heart attack.
