Has anyone seen this?

My boyfriend has told me he's watching it. I've not heard of it so looked it up to see if I might be interested.

I'm not. I'm really, really not.

According to Imdb it's full of sex, prostitutes and strippers. Because of my past I'm really sensitive to things like this. It's made me feel quite anxious and I think it's put me off him a bit.

I don't really know why he told me tbh.

How can you be put off someone by something you haven’t even tried to watch?!

It’s an amazing show. It really is. The acting is incredible and the story is fantastic.

It’s about a family man who gets sucked into money laundering- then his whole family gets sucked into it too. It’s not just about prostitution etc … in fact I’m struggling to even remember a prostitution storyline but I’m guessing maybe there was one! 🤷‍♀️

It's a good story, well acted. It's not porn if that's your concern.

They buy a strip club as part of money laundering so you do see some strippers. There'll be an age rating on netflix if you are sensitive to adult themes.

Part of the first season has scenes in a strip club
the story certainly doesn’t centre on that
its an absolutely outstanding production with incredible acting

Ah yes. That’s true - but it’s so inconsequential I didn’t even remember that until you said it! You
might see the odd fleeting glance of a stripper dancing but it’s not the focus of the story at all.

It’s full of strong women who don’t take any shit the men are quite frankly fairly weak and need the women’s help often

OK. Thanks. I won't be watching it but that has made me feel a bit better.

What I read made it sound horrible.

I don't watch anything unless I've checked it out first.

Sex and nudity was rated as severe. Even stuff rated as 'mild' can be too much depending on what it is.

Thanks. No. I've not heard of that. I usually use imdb but I don't always find it very reliable. I always err on the side of caution.

I've just looked at the commons sense website. It says the strip club is a primary setting so not sure how people here missed it.

It just doesn't sound very nice at all.

I don't know what to think now.

My problem with Ozark is that a lot of the filming is done practically in the dark. The lighting is terrible. 75% of it us impossible to see.
The story is gripping as long as you don't mind watching each episode three times so that you understsnd it.
Too conplicated for me. I gave up.

yes, part of it is set in a strip club and you might see a stiletto dancing around in the foreground and then the camera pans on people having a conversation at a table, that sort of thing.

To be honest, he probably just mentioned it in passing - not to upset you.
I can’t see why someone watching Ozark would change your opinion of them, it’s really not a big deal.

It's a great series. I can't remember any prostitution or even nudity, I actually liked it that much I recommended it to my parents.
It's about a family that gets sucked into money laundering.
I'm surprised you haven't heard about it as it's been one of the top TV series for years with the actors invited onto talk shows and that. (This morning ect)
I'd recommend it 100% all my colleagues at work love it and my partners parents recommended it to us.

I haven’t seen it, but everyone I know that has says it’s fantastic and a must watch. That includes my husband and my 19 year old. My 19 year old rated it up there with Breaking Bad.

It’s a brilliant watch. There is a strip club in it but I don’t recall any excessive nudity or much of a sexual nature. Some violent bits but it’s really good. Some kick ass women!
I wouldn’t be upset with your partner - All he did was tell you what he’s watching on tv . And it’s a hugely popular show.

Thanks. I don't watch TV generally so no I've not heard it before. I have a TV but only use it occasionally to stream things so anything on mainstream TV I don't watch. Its not even tuned in. So I've never seen anyone interviewed or it discussed.

I hadn't heard of it until this evening when he mentioned it. He did only tell me in passing in a 'this is what I'm doing this evening what are you doing' way.

I don't rally want to get into it but I won't watch it. I find things like that very distressing.

It’s brilliant! The strip club is background - you don’t focus on it at all. The acting is incredible - and the characters are fab! We loved it.
