The pixobitz set on special offer for under £9 went down well with both my dds age 6 and 9.
My 9yo is big into squishville and squishmallows.
Roller skates were a big hit last birthday, but probably only if you have somewhere to do it in garden.

CottonSock · 07/01/2023 16:03

My 6yo (old for her age) loves her very tech smart watch.

CottonSock · 07/01/2023 16:04
  • v tech, not very tech!
ItsACrater · 07/01/2023 16:27

Loom bands went down well with my 8yo who was too young for the craze a few years ago, Lego (3 in 1 sets), jewellery box and links that looked like Pandora charms, 2 wheeled scooter, clothes, sunrise alarm clock.

NotEvenADisneyDad · 07/01/2023 17:02

Harry Potter lego
Bananagrams
Splatoon 3 switch game
Fountain pen with her name engraved and kids calligraphy books
Squishmallow cuddly toy
Vtech print camera (looked into Instax ones but she likes adding the cartoony stuff to her pictures and playing the games so figured the instax was a little too grown up).

Cheeseandabsolutelycrackers · 07/01/2023 17:05

Fitbit ace 3
Hoverboard
Loads of clip on earrings from Claire
Vera wang Princess perfume
Case for her DS
Clothes
Personalised swimming costume and swim bag
Books

Adelais · 07/01/2023 17:05

My 9 year old got

Squishmallows
Nintendo Switch
Lego friends set

Hype bag

ItsACrater · 07/01/2023 17:17

Wonderful idea! Slight hiccup is she has an older sister!! So much stuff you’ve all mentioned has been handed down.
fitBit Ace 3 handed over to gparents as an option.

doesn’t have her own switch but older DD does

has enchantimals
lego squsihallows etc has a scooter etc

hmm show tickets is looking strong option

Last year my 9yos favourite presents were lego, craft stuff and an Echo Dot.

This year they included a bubble lamp for her room, Harry potter stuff, an Escape Room game and oichers for activities like climbing and ice skating.

She's getting paddlebiarding lessons for her upcoming birthday to go with the shared paddleboard she got for Christmas

ItsACrater · 07/01/2023 18:09

Thanks for these ideas!

the rock volcano set she doesn’t have and would like that she collects rocks - does anyone have a link

A microwaveable cuddly wolf cub, mecano set.

I’m still trying to work out where to put it all.

Secnarf · 07/01/2023 18:24

My daughter is 7, but also in year 3. Her favourite presents this Christmas were:

-Wobble board
-Tickets to the Nutcracker (if your daughter is into ballet and you are near London, the ENB does half price tickets for children)
-Board games (cluedo, monopoly, screwball scramble were particular winners)
-outline metallic markers
-a book token! - I was surprised at how much she loved the process of going to the bookshop, choosing her books and then going up to the counter and handing over the payment herself.

If she likes rocks, and doesn't already have it, the national geographic set of rocks and a little reference book about rocks and minerals went down well last year.

My daughter's 8th birthday present will be dinosnores (a sleepover at the Natural History Museum) with a science-themed afternoon tea beforehand.

RandomUsernameHere · 07/01/2023 18:24

DD (8) got:
Numerous Squishmallows
Lots of books (fact and fiction)
Various art stuff
Magazine subscription
Dress
Tamagotchi
Lava lamp
Pyjamas
Socks
Keyring
