Am I the only one to think the old song (sung by Brenda lee) says 'later we'll have some fucking pie'...

I mean it does!

Yes I now know what the actual word is, but it really doesn't sound like it!

SkylightSkylight · 01/01/2023 23:53

FeinCuroxiVooz · 01/01/2023 23:56

it's definitely later we'll have some pumpkin pie, but I can see how someone who wasn't familiar with pumpkin pie might mishear it

holierthanthou73 · 01/01/2023 23:57

Don’t be ridiculous OP

Wazzzzzuuuuuuup · 02/01/2023 00:11

😂

And
”And I know that, the HOT Dogs go onnnnnnn””

The most basic logic surely dictates there isn't going to be an uncorrected swear word blasted out on the radio etc or in a popular song. Reading the actual lyrics of any song is merely a google search away so there's limited excuse for all these 'hilarious' 'misheard' song lyrics IMO.

Cheekymaw · 02/01/2023 04:47

🤣🤣

DuncanBiscuits · 02/01/2023 04:59

I was sceptical, but I just listened and…you’re right!

BRENda! 😱

PenelopeTitsDrop3121 · 02/01/2023 07:41

😂I used to think it was funky pie but it's pumpkin 😁

McDonaldsMcChanel · 02/01/2023 08:41

(This is obviously a light hearted thread and I doubt the op really did think a song of this era would include brash swearing - some people here are a bit serious I think!)

So anyway thank you very much op for poisoning my ears and I will always from now on hear fucking pie 😂

I know it's pumpkin, as I looked it up, (it couldn't be f* ing pie) but all I ever hear is the naughty word!

Really bizarre but when I listened to the song, if I had the word "pumpkin" in my head as I know it says, I can clearly hear pumpkin.

Rewind it back but this time with the word "fuckin" in my head and I can heard the word fuckin in the song. Like one of those ear trick things you get online.

Anyone else hear this??

HippyChickMama · 02/01/2023 10:15

My 9 year old thought this! She kept missing out the word pumpkin and I asked her why and she said because she's singing a naughty word. I asked her why she would be singing that and she said 'I don't know, I thought maybe she really disliked pie' Grin

JuneOsborne · 02/01/2023 10:18

I had a festive fact in my cracker that said that Brenda Lee was just 13 years old when this was recorded.

Well that’s everyone told, stop the thread immediately.

McDonaldsMcChanel · 02/01/2023 11:30

Wouldn't it be marvellous if after all this time it was discovered that she tried it on and actually DID sing fuckin pie 😂

I've listened to it a number of times now and ALL I can hear is fuckin pie!!!
