Am I the only one to think the old song (sung by Brenda lee) says 'later we'll have some fucking pie'...

I mean it does!

Yes I now know what the actual word is, but it really doesn't sound like it!

Wouldn't it be marvellous if after all this time it was discovered that she tried it on and actually DID sing fuckin pie 😂

I've listened to it a number of times now and ALL I can hear is fuckin pie!!!

I know! It's all I hear! I playing it to my sister and said she sang fucking pie, she said , don't be silly, and then OMG! 🤣🤣🤣

My 9 year old thought this! She kept missing out the word pumpkin and I asked her why and she said because she's singing a naughty word. I asked her why she would be singing that and she said 'I don't know, I thought maybe she really disliked pie' Grin

There you go! No preconceptions about pumpkins, which I didn't have either.

Really bizarre but when I listened to the song, if I had the word "pumpkin" in my head as I know it says, I can clearly hear pumpkin.

Rewind it back but this time with the word "fuckin" in my head and I can heard the word fuckin in the song. Like one of those ear trick things you get online.

Anyone else hear this??

Yes, that exactly! So weird. I can't hear anything else except the swear word 😂

I've always heard 'pumpkin', but I'm going to listen to it again!

I always hear Shakin' Stevens sing 'I'm gonna FIGHT that girl, underneath the mistletoe', even though I know full well it's 'find'...

Always worth a re-listen!

Definitely pumpkin. My grandson had to learn the words in Nursery.

Oh then it must be true then. Are you SURE??? 😂

OP I think you've opened up a conspiracy theory!

I think she is pronouncing pumpkin like “punkin” pie. My grandma was southern and this is how she said pumpkin which does sound quite a lot more like fuckin’ pie.

As an aside, I don’t know any Americans who eat that for Christmas as we’ve all had enough at thanksgiving one month earlier.

Ihatethemessimin · 03/01/2023 12:38

Glad I’m not the only one! I only realised last year she sang “pumpkin” 😂

Porcinimushroom · 03/01/2023 12:42

It’s like the Mariah Carey song..without you.

it should say “Well, I can't forget this evening, Or your face as you were leaving”

“Well I can’t forget the semen, on your face as you were leaving…”

once heard. Never unheard,, 😂

TooGood2BeFalse · 03/01/2023 12:46

One of 'those' Prince Harry quotes...

'The pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution...'

My friend heard initially it as 'anal suffering'...That one was hard to unhear 🤣

McDonaldsMcChanel · 03/01/2023 15:10

Mariah and Harry...

Oof! 😂
