Why do I feel so full? Something wrong?

I feel so full up (bloated), cannot drink or drink anything else and don't understand why.

Woke up at 10.00am and had a piece of orange. Went to lunch with a friend at Zizzi's (4pm) and bought a Rustica pizza and was a bit shocked that it was bit bigger than expected. Managed to eat the whole pizza apart from two slices but was already beginning to feel full. Came back home at 7-ish and don't have the stomach to eat or drink anything else. I still feel terribly full and bloated and find it difficult to get up . Why is this?

Try an antacid if you have any.

WallaceinAnderland · 28/12/2022 23:51

If I ate a whole large pizza at 4pm I would feel full for the rest of the day.

Judelawsnanny · 28/12/2022 23:52

Erm well of course you do, a whole pizza bar two slices would make most people feel full and bloated

Christmas bloat. Get some deflatine or windeze and eat some prunes or take a senakot.

Don't do what I did and take two senakot max for two consecutive nights Grin

Aquamarine1029 · 28/12/2022 23:54

I would feel like I were going to explode if I ate that much. It's really no big mystery why you feel so bloated.

Windeze. Apparently relieves trapped wind discreetly and gently. My fucking arse it does!!

UpsyDaisysarmpit · 29/12/2022 00:12

I had a very inflated stomach one Christmas after eating a lot. Deflatine as above did help. Maybe speak to pharmacist?

secular39 · 29/12/2022 00:31

I just generally do not feel well. It's nearly 1am and I still feel so full. I also gage developed an odd ear ache on my right side.::wonder if it's connected. Strange. My friend who ate the same pizza as me said that it didn't really fill her up...

Did you drink any wine with it, or other alcohol?

lurkinglittleladybug · 29/12/2022 18:41

Most likely just the after Christmas bloat … You probably just need to have a huge poo then you will feel back to normal 😁

Madeyoulook · 29/12/2022 18:43

That’s precisely why I can’t eat pizza at all.

heatofthedrum · 29/12/2022 18:50

I felt like this just before I got norovirus

RudolphTheGreat · 29/12/2022 18:58

I've felt full very quickly since having covid. On another note I believe it can be a sign of an ovarian cyst so if it's been happening a while it's probably worth seeing your GP (if you can get an appt!).

WhoopItUp · 29/12/2022 19:00

Why would you expect to eat 3 hours after a really big meal? I’m fat so not averse to a big meal (!) but I wouldn’t eat a big pizza at 4 and expect to be hungry at 7. That would do me for the rest of the evening.

this sums it up…it’s not rocket science…

BorisJohnsonsHair · 29/12/2022 19:04

Could it be gluten intolerance? Is it certain foods?

My DH struggles with feeling full quickly and is currently trying out probiotics.

Sparklefoof · 29/12/2022 19:04

I had this last week when i had covid...felt very full after eating not a lot and vomited a few times as it felt like I just had too much food in me, but it wasn't any more than I would normally eat. My ears are uncomfortable as well.

Reindear · 29/12/2022 19:05

You ate a massive pizza. That’s why you’re full

Ravageur · 29/12/2022 19:07

@heatofthedrum me too!

lmnabc · 29/12/2022 19:08

Don't look for problems - see how you feel in the morning

tillyandmilly · 29/12/2022 19:08

I can eat-a pizza at 4pm and be hungry at 7pm ? No problem

mawbroon · 29/12/2022 19:12

I second the PP who said they felt like this before norovirus.

I hope it's not though...

FunkyFantasticFudgeball · 29/12/2022 19:13

If it continues talk to your GP, it could be Christmas bloating but could also be a sign of a hiatus hernia or a stomach ulcers. Both of which I have. The only symptom I had was feeling full after eating mouthfuls of food

Cherrysoup · 29/12/2022 19:20

Possibly intolerant to the pizza? I ate one from a supermarket, dear god, the bloating was horrific and my flat stomached DH looked hugely pregnant. Never again!

this sums it up…it’s not rocket science…

Even if the OP went for the highest calorie Rustica than that would be 3/4 of a 1700 calorie pizza or 1225 calories of pizza plus an orange segment all day.

By any normal standards that would be a low calorie diet day.

If the OP went for the margarita version (896 calories) then 3/4 of the pizza = approx 675 calories plus a whole segment of orange.

That would be crash diet amounts of calories.

It would be good if for once, the teeny tinies could just acknowledge that being unable to eat after what for most people is significantly less than a healthy day's calories is not "gorging oneself" - its actually a potential health issue.

OP: try antacid or sipping hot water - its probably just indigestion but if its not gone tomorrow it may be something else.
