Why do I feel so full? Something wrong?

I feel so full up (bloated), cannot drink or drink anything else and don't understand why.

Woke up at 10.00am and had a piece of orange. Went to lunch with a friend at Zizzi's (4pm) and bought a Rustica pizza and was a bit shocked that it was bit bigger than expected. Managed to eat the whole pizza apart from two slices but was already beginning to feel full. Came back home at 7-ish and don't have the stomach to eat or drink anything else. I still feel terribly full and bloated and find it difficult to get up . Why is this?

Even if the OP went for the highest calorie Rustica than that would be 3/4 of a 1700 calorie pizza or 1225 calories of pizza plus an orange segment all day.

By any normal standards that would be a low calorie diet day.

If the OP went for the margarita version (896 calories) then 3/4 of the pizza = approx 675 calories plus a whole segment of orange.

That would be crash diet amounts of calories.

It would be good if for once, the teeny tinies could just acknowledge that being unable to eat after what for most people is significantly less than a healthy day's calories is not "gorging oneself" - its actually a potential health issue.

OP: try antacid or sipping hot water - its probably just indigestion but if its not gone tomorrow it may be something else.

It’s not the calories it’s the amount of food at 4pm then wondering why they are still full at 7pm

Pizza transforms from gooey, moaning with joy chomping to concrete load between that last "I'm stuffed, but one more slice won't hurt" and the sickening realisation that I've been a greedy bastard.
😱

@secular39 so is it just today you feel like this or has it been going on a bit longer? I'm generally unable to eat by the time new year's eve comes along as I've a bit of a backlog of mince pies, cheese and crackers in my system! Try eating small and often tomorrow and see how you feel. Any other symptoms?

SausageMonkey2 · 29/12/2022 20:29

Are you pooping like usual?

userxx · 29/12/2022 20:31

Carb coma.

Did you feel well yesterday? If so probably one of those things. You may need a big fart. Don't over analyse the situation.

OhChristmasTreeOhChristmasTreeFaLaLa · 29/12/2022 20:42

If this is a one off, given what you've eaten (plus it's Christmas when we all tend to eat more) I'd just assume you are still full. If I eat a lot one day I find I don't have much appetite the next day (I'm quite slim so my body clearly knows when I need to stop gorging!).

If this is an ongoing thing I would go and get checked (I'm not a go to the gp sort of person genrally I'll add) but bloating and loss of appetite was a relatives main symptoms she was experiencing with that turned out to be ovarian cancer (not saying it is this by any stretch of the imagination, but if it seems to be an ongoing thing, worth checking) my rele is full of regret she ignored these symptoms for a couple of months.

I feel like shit after that much pizza too!

Megs83 · 29/12/2022 20:57

Losing my appetite was my main Covid symptom (also had a sore ear) a few weeks ago. I could still eat food but definitely wasn’t hungry. I put it down to too much holiday eating and drinking. Lasted a few days.
