Congratulations. You've got great space, especially on the upper floors and a great outlook for the back. The cat clearly looks very happy. It's take a while, but you're clearly making into your new home. Enjoy your new home and life.

Thank you 😊

Love it OP.
A blank canvas for all your creativity.

Theneverendingdrama · 29/12/2022 11:01

Lovely house, congratulations OP.

We moved into our house at end of September. We have no curtains yet but finally got around to making shelves in wardrobes for our clothes yesterday. In all the years, I have never had adequate storage for clothes so now feel so organised 🙂

The rooms are massive, no box room & you could hold a party in your downstairs toilet. I bet you are itching to get it all decorated & furnished.

I now have a mental image of the OP holding a housewarming party in the downstairs loo 😂

All the best OP!! The housing situation in the UK is abysmal, so it is lovely to be welcomed into your new home. I love how the cat gave you a stare as you entered the room disturbing her sleep! Ha!

Tidsleytiddy · 29/12/2022 13:35

It looks absolutely lovely. Much deserved after time in temp accommodation x

Mynewhome · 29/12/2022 01:44

There are 5 bedrooms. Its a life time tenancy.

My temporary accommodation was a house. And I basically sneaked my pets in. Housing officer knew off record .

@Mynewhome sorry if my previous pist sounded like an interrogation! It really wasn't, I was just excited for you

it must be an incredible weight off your mind, having a lifetime tenancy! I didn't think they did them anymore. But I'm very pleased you have one!

I don't know much (clearly!!) about the system, I just assumed 'temporary' would be a very small flat or B&B type accommodation & having your pets would have been impossible. I'm pleased it wasn't.

Enjoy your new home 😊

RainbowZebraWarrior · 29/12/2022 13:52

How wonderful! Happy New Home OP.

I'm off shopping now with a little spring in my step and an earworm of "Doo Ba Dee DaBaDa Doo" 😁

That's OK.. I have heard that many housing associations don't do life time tenancy often 5 years . But I don't think their tenancy simply ends I think its just to check if they have still have kids living at home or have not have not become million airs.

Some of my council still have right to buy. Mine does not though. I'm unlikely to be in this house till the day I die as eventually it would be to big.

Temporary can be hostel,b&b, flat, house. But in my area the conditions of them are awful. Mice rats cockroaches damp. Bedbugs. Its been a rough time. But its done now are we have our home 🙂

Looks lovely. So much space and big windows to let in lots of light.

I hope you live very happily there Flowers

WinterFoxes · 29/12/2022 14:09

That's really nice. I love the light in the living room and I envy the amount or worktop space in the kitchen. It looks really fresh and has a good energy.

Jenhen89 · 29/12/2022 14:13

Huge! I’m jealous, my house is tiny and now with our 1 year old it’s an even bigger squeeze :(

BraveGoldie · 29/12/2022 14:19

@Mynewhome

theres do much disparity across the country and within councils by the sounds of it.

Anyway, I'm beyond thrilled that you have a lovely home for a good long time, even if it's not quite forever!

Happy New Home 🏡 & New Year 🥂🍾
