I have done a great job about limiting Christmas leftovers (albeit by putting alot of it in the freezer).

So today for dinner we are having Minestrone with garlic bread. Followed by treacle pudding and brandy butter.

Tomorrow

B- bagels, cream cheese and fruit
L- leftover minstetrone
D-Chicken stroganoff using up the final bit of chicken (which has been frozen since Christmas day) and the sour cream from the smoked slamon starter blinis.

Love to hear other plans from people. :) (Because I just love a food thread).;

Beef pie, mash, peas, carrots and sprouts tonight using up the end of the Christmas joint.

Tomorrow is chicken and ribs, if we manage to go out and buy some ribs that is Grin

Everydaywheniwakeup · 28/12/2022 16:28

I have no Christmas leftovers, but am not in the mood for cooking today. I think it may well be toast, wine and Season 3 of Emily in Paris.

HomeAGnome · 28/12/2022 16:29

Vegetable casserole and Yorkshire puddings, it smells lush already

I've made turkey and ham pie with the last of the leftovers. Just had a big slice followed by a bowl of roulade. Later this evening I'll cook some cocktail sausages and have with cheese and pickles.

Lamb chops, potatoes, veg, gravy mint sauce.

Any Christmas Day leftovers got turned into soup and is currently in the fridge.

iliketartan · 28/12/2022 16:52

Used up the Christmas leftovers yesterday in pies. Today have a beef joint simmering in the slow cooker and will have with mash, carrots, broccoli and green beans.

AudTheDeepMinded · 28/12/2022 16:56

Lazy tea here tonight, beans on toast! Very few savoury left-overs remain as we has a big bubble and squeak on Boxing Day. The turkey has been cubed and frozen for future use. There is a fair amount of cake, mince pies, trifle etc. The thought of which makes a bit queasy to be honest.
Tomorrow's tea will probably be shepherds pie and greens and not got as far as thinking after that! Although home-made pizza is always well received, with lots of chopped raw veg to try and healthy it up!

SnowAndIceLobelia · 28/12/2022 16:58

The only main thing I have frozen is an uncooked ham which none of us could face as we are all slightly under the weather with this cold that is going around (except for DH who is vegetarian anyway).

I am supposed to host a charity lunch in Feb so will drag it out then I think. It ought to be okay 4 weeks in the freezer I think?

Festive topped chips tonight and tomorrow is just a mushroom pasta before we ramp up again for new year celebrations 🥳

LouLou789 · 28/12/2022 17:00

Leftover beef diced with carrot and leeks and baked with a mash topping as shepherd’s pie tonight. Lunch was the last bit of ham, in sandwiches.

Tomorrow Chinese takeaway! The only waste has been a couple of yoghurts and some coleslaw that have gone out of date.

TheLeadbetterLife · 28/12/2022 17:09

We’ve loads of leftovers still (I love them and like to live off them for a week with no cooking). Asian-style turkey salad for dinner, followed by cheese and crackers.

Always4Brenner · 28/12/2022 17:11

Beef stew and dumplings sprouts and broccoli then will roast the chestnuts

custardbear · 28/12/2022 17:13

I made the turkey into soup today which is nearly finished, cheese and crusty bread for supper, and some wine! Tomorrow ... not sure yet

GroomedForSerfdom · 28/12/2022 17:17

Pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, veg and gravy. Basically fridge stuff not needed for the Christmas dinner and going out of date today.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/12/2022 17:23

No leftovers here except a few bits of cheese and a bucket full of lebkuchen.

Tonight - Indian takeaway
Tomorrow - I need to go to a supermarket and intend to get something with lots of vegetables. Will either do pasta or some sort of stir fry or a veggie chilli with said vegetables, I think.

Taytocrisps · 28/12/2022 17:24

I didn't cook on Christmas Day or St. Stephen's day (26th December) so I made a seafood curry yesterday and I'm having leftovers today. DD is making a chicken stir fry tomorrow and hopefully she'll make enough for Friday also.
