What time do you get dressed if you're off work and lounging?

So it's my day off. I work in retail so had a fairly busy run up to Christmas abd it's my day off. I feel so guilty being in my PJs but it's just so bliss. What time is acceptable to remain in a state of slattern-ness 🤣 ( I have friends calling tonight so I will need to be presentable for 7pm 😆)

I prefer to be washed and dressed first thing but I can never be bothered on my days off.

I sometimes spend the whole day in PJs. They’re comfy and I’m at home, who cares what I’m wearing?

Well I'm not dressed yet and am in no rush. I need to go out to buy cat food at some point, but that's all. Probably lunchtime?

I don't feel guilty at all, we have no plans today, we were with family all yesterday and tomorrow and just want to chill for a day.

I hate sitting around in PJs, so get dressed shortly after getting up and showering. However, I get up very late and the clothes I put on are not exactly the height of style (leggings/joggers/hoody etc). But I do need to change into something. I can't put PJs on after work either, they are firmly for bed.

As soon as I have had a shower so maybe between 7.30 and 8.00. I have never worn pjs in the day unless I'm seriously ill.

Why would you feel guilt?
Who are you harming or doing nad to? No one. So do your own thing 🤷‍♀️

If I were you about 5 or 6
my in-laws called an hour early the other day (they are very very old fashioned and only come to breakfast fully dressed ) and judgemental so I made a run for it to say I was in the shower before we headed out

Thanks so much for all your replies...I'm on my 2nd cup of tea and the PJs are still well and truly on. Kinda enjoying this new me 🤣 normally I'm up and dressed by 6:30am so I'm feeling very indulgent this morning 😆

I plan on changing into fresh pj's when I find the will to get a shower. It's a pj day in my house.

I'm off until the 5th January, and ideally I'll next get 'dressed' on the 30th when we're going out for dinner (I will shower and change loungewear in the meantime though).

Pj day here. I’m in bed with the cat, DP slept in the spare room because he has a stinking cold and was snoring so badly the night before. I’ll have a lovely long bath in the afternoon with my book, then fresh loungewear. I don’t actually sleep in pjs though, and I did wash my face/do skincare when I woke up.

When I have to go out!

If I'm WFH and I need to pop to the shops at lunchtime, I get dressed at...lunchtime. If I don't need to go anywhere, I'll still shower and put clean comfy clothes/PJs on but I'm not getting outside-levels-of-dressed at all.

(If I have meetings, I have various smart-ish jumpers I throw on so I look presentable for the camera).

I sometimes delay until I know where I'm likely to be going that day so I can dress in the right clothes with gym, allotment, shopping being the most likely options if I haven't planned anything in advance. I find it easy to do housework in my nightshirts as they are nice and cool and its nice to shower afterwards. I never feel fully relaxed till I'm dressed though in case someone comes to the door.

I am not a pyjama/dressing gown person so generally get dressed before I come downstairs.

This is such a refreshing thread! Currently wafting around in my pjs. However, it’s something my parents never did so still feel guilty about it.
