What time do you get dressed if you're off work and lounging?

So it's my day off. I work in retail so had a fairly busy run up to Christmas abd it's my day off. I feel so guilty being in my PJs but it's just so bliss. What time is acceptable to remain in a state of slattern-ness 🤣 ( I have friends calling tonight so I will need to be presentable for 7pm 😆)

I’m still in pjs. Just breakfasted in bed.

it’s normally get dressed for a purpose- shop, park, workout.

today the kids are at my moms. DH is wfh. I have no purpose!

so I’ll probably give it another hour at least before I get into my gym gear.

It’s pouring with rain and we’ve not got the heating on. So bed is the place to be.

Triffid1 · 28/12/2022 11:11

I am sitting in my dressing gown with tea and mumsnet. Will go get a coffee in a minute then will finally drift upstairs to shower!!

ThorFull · 28/12/2022 11:12

Drifting is exactly how I’m moving about today! Perfect description. No hustling and hurrying.

fatsinglereadytomingle · 28/12/2022 11:21

In your situation I'd start getting ready about 5.30pm and enjoy lazing about in til the .

I'm extremely jealous, I'm rough as fuck and heading out to an all day wedding, the first drink is going to kill or cure me that's for sure

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 28/12/2022 11:50

I have been in pjs ( clean ones ) since Xmas Eve. As I have been nowhere. I have pain problems and pjs are more comfy.

All clothes are made of material. All clothes are made of different material. Just because they are classed as pjs. They are still clothes just made of material. So technically ur just wearing clothes. That’s what I tell myself.

I saw a women the other day in pjs , slippers and dressing gown at the shops.

LlynTegid · 28/12/2022 11:53

I get dressed at the same time myself. Just wear different clothes. Each to their own though, I'd think in your case before lunch.

IMO, In your situation 6.30pm! Enjoy😁

This

30mins before visitors arrive and/or 5mins before you go out.

mincepiepie · 28/12/2022 12:38

I'm keep cycling between night pjs and day pjs (joggers and a long sleeve top)

Interleaved with a shower each 24 hour period.

scoopoftheday · 28/12/2022 13:04

I'm usually a wash and dress as soon as I'm up, person. I wfh and am always washed and dressed before I log on.

Boxing day I was in PJs until 6pm, then showered and ran my child to the pub.

Was dressed all day yesterday but today I'm still in (clean) PJs and will be in them until about 4pm when I dress for the gym at 5pm.

Myfinalthoughtsonthisissue · 28/12/2022 13:05

I'd personally get in the shower about 6pm and then into clean PJs. Friends can take you as they find you. 😂

Theimpossiblegirl · 28/12/2022 13:06

If I hadn't had to walk the dog I'd still be in PJ's now.

thelobsterquadrille · 28/12/2022 13:07

Either as soon as I get up, or once I'm back from walking the dog.

Ohmych · 28/12/2022 13:15

I also work in retail and it's my day off today. I got showered and dressed at 11am. I did contemplate staying in PJs all day because I'm not planning on going out but I really wanted a shower. I would stay in PJs until just before they arrive.

Scalottia · 28/12/2022 13:20

Why does it matter?

Bonjovispyjamas · 28/12/2022 13:44

I'm always I'm my pj's when I'm at home and also get straight into them as soon as I get in from work. I live alone so no one sees me, I also don't have a washing machine, have to go to the launderette, so why dirty more clothes unnecessarily? But it's mainly about comfort, that trumps all.

Blip · 28/12/2022 14:09

Every so often I have a pyjama day. Usually have a bath in the daytime and then swap to fresh PJs.

onemouseplace · 28/12/2022 14:12

I've fudged it slightly today and stayed in my pjs until I had a shower about 1230, but then just got into a onesie.

Ponderingwindow · 28/12/2022 14:17

I shower at night just before putting on my pjs. No need to shower again in the morning. If I have the day off, Just brush my teeth and run a brush through my hair and then spend the day comfortable.

Vinylloving · 28/12/2022 14:24

All day! I'm not getting out of pjs today

Dragonskin · 28/12/2022 14:43

Well I showered and put clean pjs on. I will be getting dressed about 10 minutes before I next need to go out

Figgypudding123 · 28/12/2022 16:00

About 9:30 but we have a dog to walk.

Give the choice I'd be in jammies until lunch and back in them again from 6pm...

UsingChangeofName · 28/12/2022 16:07

Personally, I get dressed after I get washed when I get up, but I am not likely to get up before 10 if I'm not doing anything / going anywhere.
However, you do whatever you want to in your own home.

shinynewapple22 · 28/12/2022 16:11

I work from home and if I haven't got a meeting (hence needing to look decent on camera) then I mostly don't get dressed until I finish work mid-afternoon.

WomanhoodIsABirthright · 28/12/2022 17:00

I don't get dressed if I'm not going out.

I'll get up, wash, brush teeth, and change into leggings and t-shirt or hoody but I don't put outdoor clothes on or any make-up.
