any straight forward, simple, ideally free, non gory phome games that are absorbing and addictive and fun to play, and possible to play in a semi -recumberant position?

Please send me your suggestions! I've been playing love balls and tenten. thank you!

Cooking diary is a good one if you like that kind of thing

ChuggingtonMum · 27/12/2022 13:23

I lose my days to

Toy blast

Match 3d (but quite hard sometimes so not always relaxing!)

Atinytrolley · 27/12/2022 13:29

I like Pudding Monsters. I think it's free.

shuttheblindsintheevening · 27/12/2022 13:30

Homescapes. You basically line up coloured blocks in order to win points to renovate different areas of a house. Mindless and amazing 😂

Advysa · 27/12/2022 13:31

Candy Crush: This popular puzzle game involves matching colorful candies to progress through levels and unlock new challenges.
Two Dots: This game involves connecting dots of the same color to clear them from the board and progress through levels.
Tetris: This classic puzzle game involves fitting falling blocks into place to clear lines and keep the stack from reaching the top of the screen.
Bejeweled: This puzzle game involves matching gems of the same color to clear them from the board and earn points.
Dots: This simple game involves connecting dots of the same color to clear them from the board and earn points.
Flappy Bird: This addictive game involves navigating a bird through obstacles by tapping the screen to make it fly.
Temple Run: This endless runner game involves navigating a character through a series of obstacles and collecting coins.

Bejewelled. Play the online version (rather than the app) for free!

Podcast Player app has tons of good stuff if you like listening to stuff.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 27/12/2022 13:34

I like problem solving games (not sure if you’re up to them or not). I like monkey island and lost lands.

I also do happy colour and jigsaw puzzles on my phone. Those are both the names of the apps.

RevealTheHiddenBeach · 27/12/2022 13:37

If you also want to be vaguely productive (appreciate you may not!) You could also learn a new language on duolingo? It feels a bit like a game!

Project Makeover

I alternate between this Gardenscapes (an offshoot of homescapes) and listening to podcasts (which I’m sure you will get loads of recommendations for if you ask Smile).

KupoNutCoffee · 27/12/2022 13:40

Candy crush, and basically any of the king games - bubble witch, pet rescue etc.

I play on the switch but they have a mobile app, if you don't mind paying...Stardew Valley, basically building a farm, going mining, fishing. Maybe not mindless but certainly can be a good few hours.

Also, 'I love hue' - basically putting coloured squares in order (slightly more complex than it sounds but peaceful.
Alto's adventure / oddessy - little sandboard/snowboarder with progress unlocks of characters, and goals to complete.

ThreeB · 27/12/2022 13:41

Junes Journey and Pearls Peril

Nimbostratus100 · 27/12/2022 13:41

wow! so many lovely ideas! I've started with 3d match, and I think this could happily while away a few hours! Then coming back to the list to try another one

Thank you all so much for taking the time to make suggestions for me

xx

A match 3 game like candy crush, or if you like Harry Potter then Harry Potter Puzzles & Spells

queenofthebongo · 27/12/2022 13:44

I play puzzle type escape games. The best by far are by rusty lake and there are quite a few. Samsara room is incredible! But for mindless I like hexpop which is a hidden game in a Suduko puzzle called sudocube. Also drop the number is mindlessly addictive!

RewildingAmbridge · 27/12/2022 13:45

Mini metro, you have to set up tube lines in various world cities, very simple but addictive

msssm · 27/12/2022 13:49

Rummikub and Hearts are my go to.

BertieBotts · 27/12/2022 13:49

My current favourites are drop the number and I love hue.

They aren't too filled with adverts and they increase slowly in difficulty so stay interesting. I find a lot of games are very high intensity with lots of ads and that makes me tired. Or they get to a certain point and you can just play it endlessly and never increases in difficulty which is just annoying.

There is also a great puzzle compilation called

BertieBotts · 27/12/2022 13:50

Simon Tatham's puzzles that has no ads at all, lots of options, this is a great app.

Don't know why this sent early, sorry

StillDancingEvenOnTheRainyDays · 27/12/2022 13:52

My suggestion isn’t a game, it’s an audio book I’ve just started

the subtle art of not giving a fuck by Mark Manson
im currently tucked into bed with a tub of chocolate and he is making amazing sense so far…

Riverlee · 27/12/2022 13:52

If you like animals, I like looking at Dogs Trust and Battersea dogs homes at all the dogs, and reading about them. I feel sorry for the ones that linger on there a while, and ‘choose’ which one I’d like (currently Meg on Dogs Trust Canterbury site). I know not an app.
