And it's HEAVEN!
No awful inlaws, hostess duties or aggro.
Just one night of peace and quiet.

Sounds fabulous

HamHand · 26/12/2022 19:50

Was this booked beforehand or a last minute, sod you all, thing?! Either way, congratulations! I aim to get away by myself at least once a year and it’s FANTASTIC

Dillydollydingdong · 26/12/2022 19:52

I do it when ever I want 🙂

ElleBelleLou · 26/12/2022 19:52

Congratulations! For the first time in a long time I am home alone, currently sat in the bath in SILENCE and it's perfect - especially after such a busy few days full of people! Tonight I'm going to starfish in the bed because I can, wake up when I want because I can, and stay up all night watching shit TV because I can. Enjoy OP! Wine

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 26/12/2022 19:52

Sounds fantastic, enjoy!

twilightcafe · 26/12/2022 19:53

The opportunity presented itself for a night by myself and I grabbed it with both hands!
I've got a Premier Inn Plus room, wine, smellies and the TV to myself.

Feeling v jammy in my jammies! 🍷

Back to family stuff tomorrow.

Enjoy every second! I go to visit DD at university and stay alone in a hotel and my god, I savour every second.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/12/2022 19:57

Oh, I love doing this this!!! One of my favourite memories is ordering room service, taking a soak in the jetted tub while I waited, then sitting cross-legged wearing the bathrobe on the end of the bed watching a movie, eating my meal and drinking a glass of wine.

Enjoy every moment. 😊🙌👏

Dogsgottabone · 26/12/2022 20:04

Wow. JEALOUS.

reallyworriedjobhunter · 26/12/2022 20:05

That sounds awesome - from someone wedged into a top bunk with a 6 year old.

Betwixlass · 26/12/2022 20:05

Enjoy it Op. we need to hear about what you are eating, drinking, reading and watching as well.

ScarlettDarling · 26/12/2022 20:07

This has been an ambition of mine ever since my dc were born. Said dc are now 18 and 15 and I still haven’t done it. Very jealous!

mincepiesandsomemorr · 26/12/2022 20:12

OP give us more details! What did you have / or are having for dinner?

Always4Brenner · 26/12/2022 20:13

mommatoone · 26/12/2022 20:15

Sounds like heaven. Enjoy OP🥂x

twilightcafe · 26/12/2022 20:18

I arrived here as soon as check-in opened so I didn't waste a precious minute.
I had a curry at an Indian restaurant across the road. Came back and currently got a 🍷 on the go, jammies on and watching an autopsy (!) on BBC4.

I have my Kindle but Mumsnet is more entertaining!

HaggisWurst · 26/12/2022 20:31

With a 2.5 year old who still prefers mum at night and being 35 weeks pregnant, I'm very jealous 🤣 enjoy!

runlittlemonster · 26/12/2022 20:56

Ahh that sounds absolutely lovely, enjoy <3
After a full on Christmas Day at the ILs and a day of DH being a complete wanker, which seems to be becoming a Boxing Day tradition, I’m enjoying sitting on my own eating cold roast potatoes and panettone smothered with butter, drinking white wine and watching motherland. It’s the most festive I’ve felt yet.

whereeeeee · 26/12/2022 20:57

This is one of my dreams Grin

Tell us about breakfast. Are you having a hotel breakfast?

BCBird · 26/12/2022 21:01

That sounds great. I might book myself something at Christmas if I'm.still feeling miserable, can have room service, snacks and watch TV. Better to do tbis thsn inflict glum face on others.love an hotel stay.🙂

Kenwoodmixitup · 26/12/2022 21:03

Relief! Joyful thread.

I’ve been ill since Christmas Eve and so relieved that there no pressure on me to deliver dinner and entertainment (live solo) So in pjs since, half slumbering half watching tele. Bliss and relief.

lenalemonade · 26/12/2022 21:09

When my boys were younger I used to travel for work to various pointless meetings !
I always went though ,as I was assured of 1 or 2 nights in the Premier Inn ,dinner and drinks arrived ,breakfast next day -sheets I didn't have to wash or iron and fresh towels I could discard on the floor .

Pretty much same as being a teenager in my house 😂😂😂
Loved it !!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 26/12/2022 21:17

At least once a year I go on a quilting retreat organised by my local quilt shop. The company and the quilting is great, but even better is sleeping over the whole of a double bed by myself and having my meals cooked for me. Grin Enjoy!

BCBird · 26/12/2022 21:19
