Who’s joining me for a run?!

Ursuladevine · 25/12/2022 07:12

Children still in bed (early and mid secondary before anyone gets anxious).
Stockings ready and waiting outside bedroom doors
Breakfast table laid

I have just unloaded the dishwasher, turned on all the lights, got in to my running gear and now having a coffee thinking about what route I’m going to take.

who’s with me?! I’m thinking about 7k, a short sharp blast and back in time to have a shower, get dressed and get the oven on and my children won’t even have stirred!

I would if I weren't 36 weeks pregnant and like a beached whale! Enjoy!

Juniors is usually Sunday. But there's extra on Christmas Day and New year's Day

Hellocatshome · 25/12/2022 07:19

God no! But I will cheer you on from my bed.

MintJulia · 25/12/2022 07:19

I'd love to but things not quite finished here, Enjoy the quiet xx

Pismascrescents · 25/12/2022 07:32

I am in! It will be on my carpet as I can’t leave but I am there. Merry Christmas!

Spudlet · 25/12/2022 07:33

I went yesterday so I’m embracing slothfulness today before I go again tomorrow. Am staying somewhere very hilly so it’s a challenging place to run, but beautiful! Have wonderful runs and lovely days all x

Unescorted · 25/12/2022 07:38

@Spudlet look for the local fell running club.... I am sure someone will take you out or suggest a good route. A lot of clubs have a Christmas meet up and bimbles over the Christmas period.

I have just put my trainers on. See you in a tootle pip.

GerundTheBehemoth · 25/12/2022 07:41

I am going in a sec. Have run every day so far in December (a friend roped me into doing the Marcothon challenge). Then a sea swim at 10am if I can face it.

Iamanunsafebuilding · 25/12/2022 07:44

I'm off to parkrun at 9, we volunteered there yesterday and are running it today. It's the loveliest most inclusive parkrun, not too big and the route is around our local nature reserve - all ways around it's a lovely way to start Christmas Day!

NatMoz · 25/12/2022 07:45

I'm running parkrun at 9. The start is half a mile from my house and baby will go down for a nap at 9 thanks to dutiful husband so she only won't see me between 8:45 and 9. She has just turned one. I won't get away with it in a couple of years though

megletthesecond · 25/12/2022 07:46

Going to parkrun in a bit.

LizziesTwin · 25/12/2022 07:48

@NatMoz keep it as a family tradition and she won’t know any different.

She & your husband can come and cheer you on. We had people dressed up yesterday, I’m sure there will be today too and someone was giving out cardboard Christmas glasses.

MirandaWest · 25/12/2022 07:48

I’m going to parkrun in a bit 😊 19 and 17 year olds here and I think everyone’s still asleep 😃

MrsDoyle351 · 25/12/2022 07:49

I'm going to walk the dog now - which doesn't count as a run - but will be outside!

itsgettingweird · 25/12/2022 07:52

I usually do a 5.5k walk at 5am 5 times a week.

Then again a few evenings as well.

I don't run Grin

This is because ds is a swimmer as we walk as they train.

3 days off swimming means 3 days of doing nothing for me.

I bet I'll be gagging for a walk by tomorrow though!

Enjoy your run. I'm impressed with you all!

AFingerofFudge · 25/12/2022 07:53

Me and DH are up and ready to go out for a run, teenagers in bed. DH is a "proper" runner who runs about 40 miles a week. Me? I'm the lardy slow type, and over this last year I've hardly run at all as I have a hip injury.
But we always go for a Christmas Day run together, so off we go!

TheSproutOfWrath · 25/12/2022 07:53

Yep. Got new On Cloudmonsters and a Montane jacket for Christmas. Plus Day 25 of Marcothon for me!

FaazoHuyzeoSix · 25/12/2022 07:53

stocking opening started at 6:30.
by 7:40 kids bored and want their iPads
Told they couldn't have iPad but would be allowed to watch one of the films from their stockings.
but it turns out grandma and grandpa's machine can't play blu-rays, only DVDs, so none of the new discs can be played.

yes I think I shall go out for a run

CrispsnDips · 25/12/2022 07:53

I usually cycle but Park Run is one of my New Year’s resolutions!

Sarahcoggles · 25/12/2022 07:57

I'm in awe of someone so organised that they're prepared to get up before they have to on Christmas Day! The last few weeks have been exhausting, I could stay in bed for a week

TheChosenTwo · 25/12/2022 08:00

Ooohhh!!! No.
😂 enjoy, I’ve been off running for a few months and I don’t miss it but the old hips have definitely noticed and expanded!

runningpink · 25/12/2022 08:00

parkrun for me at 9.30am! Christmas fancy dress at the ready! Can’t wait!

Lastqueenofscotland2 · 25/12/2022 08:01

Parkrun for me! Staying with family so trying a new one
