Somone took booked seats 02

Theshowmustgoon22 · 23/12/2022 15:18

My daughter has gone to the 02 to see Disney on ice with her son and Friend . She booked their seats. Was sitting there. And some big bloke came along, couple of people with him. . Told dd to get out of the seats dd said she has paid for the seats. Then they got aggressive so dd was scared and got out of the seats . This left dd her son and friend with no where to sit . People started having a go at her because she was not in the way . Staff got involved. Told the people ti moved or they be kicked out . But staff did mot follow it through. Dd got told yo sit somewhere else. They have since had to move 3 times.

Dd is so upset . She's been a victim on domestic violence so she gets very upset and scared. Her son has special needs. Dd ended up crying and her son got upset as well. He was effected by the DV as well so he's effected when men shout or show anger.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced anything simlar. If so what did you do ?

Escalate it that’s appalling and the staff should be able to deal with anyone especially as they are using fear to take other people’s seats. Completely unacceptable.

AnonyMum21 · 23/12/2022 15:30

I'm furious on her behalf !
is she still there now? Are the seats she has ended up in comparable to the ones she booked?
Staff should ABSOLUTELY have dealt with this and forced ‘seat-crasher’ to move.

Appreciate this is traumatic for her to deal with right now but she should definitely NOT have been treated like this, and should receive huge apology from venue - and maybe compensation (free snacks etc, or vouchers towards another event?) to help make up for distress. Can she find staff to speak to now (not to move back to original seats, as that may continue to be upsetting) but to get names of the staff that did nothing to enable her (with your help?) to complain later…

They have Been moved to similar seats . But was yonder to move 3 times since . Last I checked with dd it was 30 mins in to the show. So I said it's probably unlikely she will get moved again.

It was the first real treat her son has had. 1st special thing they have done together. He's upset saying he wants to go home.

Bloody, Hell! Did the venue staff not check the tickets and seats? With aggression like that, they should have had security throw them out, especially as there are young children there.

She must complain to the management about it, it's absolutely shocking.

Deathraystare · 23/12/2022 15:52

Definitely she should raise a stink about it, That was appalling.

I haven't suffered DV and would have had details of the tickets booked and certainly would not have let that shit get away with it, but of course it was very traumatic for your family :(

Wonnle · 23/12/2022 15:54

I'd kick off big style myself

They do keep better seats in reserve so i'd say i want those ASAP .

Was there a few years ago in the gods and realised then my fear of heights was worse than i though , saw customer services and they reseated us

xmaslurgy · 23/12/2022 15:55

Awful. They should refund her in full.

MyBooksAndMyCats · 23/12/2022 15:58

They should refund her in full.

AllotmentTime · 23/12/2022 15:58

Complain like mad. The security at the o2 is absolute shit, I was there in the spring for Country 2 Country and they got overwhelmed very easily by a large organised group of gatecrashers who had booked cheap seats and then went into more expensive ones. It’s a disaster waiting to happen there.

Yes tickets were checked. I think staff were scared as well.

Probably whats happened to dd by sounds of it.

That is outrageous. Tell her to complain by every means possible - Twitter, FB, email etc...

We went to an event last week (not at the O2) and 2 people were in our seats. They had sat in the wrong row so we didn't bother switching, we just took their seats so we didn't bother everyone else in the two rows (they were centre seats). They moved at the interval but didn't once apologise for inconveniencing us! Some people are twats.

Mariposa26 · 23/12/2022 16:26

This happened to me a few weeks ago also at the o2! We got to our seats and two people were in them, they wouldn’t move and staff tried to help but couldn’t. They got really aggressive and it was quite scary for me as the seats were very high up and I’m pregnant. Security got involved but we ended up leaving as there were no other seats and the whole episode was just horrible and made me feel super anxious about being there. The two people were filming the whole thing for social media, even though they were the ones in the wrong! Probably wouldn’t have left if I wasn’t pregnant as I’m overemotional!
So sorry this happened to your daughter too, people are so entitled these days and the security are probably scared of getting sued or filmed and posted on social media.

Vargas · 23/12/2022 16:29

I hope you complained @Mariposa26 . That's a terrible situation for you!

CarPoor · 23/12/2022 16:31

This is appalling, security should have got involved and kicked the aggressive group out. It's pointless having security if they are going to be this useless.

I'd be wanting a full refund, staff were aware of the situation and did nothing. Not acceptable

MadeForThis · 23/12/2022 16:53

Make sure she complains before she leaves and demands a full refund.

SinnerBoy · 23/12/2022 16:57

That really is unacceptable. If the staff won't do their job and security are no good, what earthly use are they?

Definitely put it out on social media, they won't like the negative publicity.

NameIsBryceQuinlan · 23/12/2022 16:59

That is horrendous!!! Terrible service your poor daughter

Johnnyripples · 23/12/2022 17:03

I can't believe they aren't hotter on this, straight after Brixton o2. Shame on them.

Shitzngiggles · 23/12/2022 17:06

Raise merry hell and put it all over social media. Totally unacceptable.

AtTheNursingHome · 23/12/2022 17:08

😡😡😡

Notanotherone6 · 23/12/2022 17:13

I'm not sure why she didn't just keep on at the staff to allocate the correct seats to everyone.

And she should have stayed where she was.

LadyKenya · 23/12/2022 17:13

Shocking. What is the point of security, if they cannot handle these situations. It is a pity that your dd felt unable to stand her ground, seeing as she was in the correct seats in the first place.

NOTANUM · 23/12/2022 17:14

How events are managed in the UK is problematic. You only have to see the awful tragedy at the Brixton Academy last week to see how poorly managed they are and how security is delegated to temporary security staff who are temps basically.
It’s another accident waiting to happen. I’m sorry your family had this experience.
