Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just finishing my first cuppa of the day then I'm off up to wrap the last couple of small presents for the girls. Two haven't arrived but never mind; they're not important ones & I'll wrap them when they do.

I've got the washer going, and another load waiting, so there's as little as possible to do over the Christmas weekend. I also need to pay a couple of bills online.

We're popping to Lidl for a couple of things we prefer from there, and hunting down a Galaxy selection box that was missing from my shop yesterday.

After that, I've something to drop in for a friend then it's home to make the gingerbread house, and some mulled wine, with the girls (wine for me, don't worry!).

Frozen pizzas for tea, probably while we build!

Last few hours of work this morning anf thankfully all has died down finally! Xmas songs on in the background. Wearing a dress over my pj bottoms so I look smart for work video calls.

DH has taken the kids out for a bit.

We need to get a few bits that were missing/wrong from our xmas shop too.

Will hopefully get a takeaway for dinner before all the cooking starts tomorrow.

I am having a relaxing bubble bath, whilst my eldest kids potter about with the hoover and help tumble dry yesterday's laundry. I am 38 weeks pregnant with baby number 6 and so ready for this baby to come out.
I have a little work to catch up on, then we are going to have chicken sandwiches for lunch. Play some monopoly. I need to sort out the moses basket sheets and get the car seat out from the storage unit. I was meant to do that last weekend, and so definitely needs to be done today! Give it a wash and organise my hospital snack bag.
Dinner is a roast as the chicken goes off today and then we wre going to have some chocolate treats tonight, whilst playing monopoly again with Dad, when he comes home from work.

No stress or worries about finishing Xmas presents or shopping or wrapping as we are Muslim.
So just going to enjoy the weekend and wait for boxing day sales!

Today is a nice day for us too. I am off now until the 3rd Jan 😊, so having a leisurely morning. Have been up and put on dishwasher, cleared down kitchen, stripped the kids beds and put a wash on, but now jumped back into bed with a cuppa abs radio on!

No dc today, step-dt's are with their mum, and mine ds is with his dad- and this is the case until Boxing Day! Our first Christmas child free in 3 years!

So we're going to wrap their presents today (to be opened on Boxing Day), and then -weather dependent- we're going to put our walking boots on and stroll over to the pub for lunch!

Then we have a 3pm swim booked! After that, like you a couple of bills that need paying- and I promised a girl friend that I'd book tickets to see Shirley Valentine at the theatre for the new year.

I am loving this leisurely life. DP did all food shopping yesterday, so we're quite well set for the next few days.

Good Morning Everyone! I sm just finishing off my cup of tea - put a load of washing on earlier so that’s due to finish in 20 mins when I’ll then get up and sort it out snd have some toast.
Booked today off work so enjoying a chilled morning. Got to pop to the garden centre at dune point, then going to clean snd tody the house and wrap the last minute gifts so I can sided tomorrow prepping food.
Will sit down later to watch a film and have a glass or 2 of mulled wine 🍷

Full house.
Full fridge.
Well-stocked bar.
Gifts under the tree.
All sounds idyllic but...

DH is wallpapering all the bathrooms today and tomorrow.

Then off to look at the Xmas lights and pub for dinner.

Morning - last work day for me and DH. The DCs are both off today and will likely not surface until lunch time.

Work is quiet atm and hoping it stays that way (wfh). I still have a fair bit of wrapping to do,

I will pick DH up at 5.30. We've got pizza for dinner and I'm going to make some mulled cider. I think we are playing games tonight. DD has been plotting a secret game apparently and we usually do a quiz or board games.

My Christmas was made yesterday when DS (17) came home from work and said his boss told him he didn't need to work tomorrow - he was due to do 2-10 but they managed to trim down the rota and asked if he would like to swap for New Years Eve. Made me feel all fuzzy and warm to know I will have my 'baby' boy home on Christmas Eve 😊

Just waiting for the Sainsburys delivery. I need to clean the house, drop off a bag to the local food bank and put the roof box on the car before we go and see Santa later today. There is a light trail and Christmas Market to see as well so we will probably eat there. Just hope the rain stops!

Today I'm doing the big "christmas clean" need to strip the beds and wash all the bedding. The whole house needs a god hoover and clean, then dropping dd18 at work then back home to make christmas cookies with dd7 then later it's tv with a wine for me

I'm away for Xmas. Had a night alone last night 🎉🎉 before they arrive today.
Putting presents in gift bags and trying to find space to hide them a bit. Gift bag is a loose term - just used a black bin bag for a big thing as out of Christmas plastic sacks.
Then totally inessential shopping, poss a mulled wine at market.

I'll be Christmas shopping. We've had a rough few weeks (trying to sell a house, illness) and Christmas shopping has been pushed to one side. Today is it, if it isn't bought, it's not going to be.

Remainder of the day will be wrapping said shopping, tidying and clearing the fridge for the arrival of the food shop tonight..

Me and dd are on a long train journey home. Been to visit relatives for a few days. My dh dealt with our online shop the other day. Just got a couple of bits to pick up tomorrow including a Turkey crown which my work mates have put aside for me. Pretty tired but glad I did all the wrapping before we went.

Long walk through town this morning as it’s 25º and I’ve missed walking in the sun.

Back for lunch and to sign for a delivery.

Early afternoon we go to the beach for an hour then need to finish shopping for presents, here all the shops wrap them up for you so they will all be ready when we get home.

In the evening I'm rehearsing with some old friends for a mini Christmas-concert we’re singing in tomorrow. Dinner with the whole family when we’re back I suppose.

Just on my first cuppa, then planning to tackle the kitchen while DH is off to get the Christmas meat from the butchers.

A few bits of wrapping left to do, but all very calm.

Playing Hunt the Azithromycin for my little one, he runs out on Monday and we need the next month's supply.

Had one cup of coffee, then 11am hairdresser coming to highlight my hair and give it a bit of a trim as had to cancel previous appointment for last week due to having shingles. Hate having my hair done but she's very quick, a good hour or so than a salon and I don't have to leave my house either - win, win!

Pouring with rain here so no plans to leave the house apart from visiting dad in care home a few minutes walk from my house.

Lying in bed feeling awful with covid. Temperature really high.

Feeling a bit sad at all the festive stuff I'm missing. Really need to get out of bed and wrap some presents.

DM taking kids to see Santa and out for lunch so at least they'll have fun.

Thinking of everyone else suffering with flu/covid there seem to be a lot of people ill at the moment

Only just finished work yesterday and DH is still working today, so I’ve got a busy day today.

I did the Christmas food shop this morning which was stressful! Sainsburys & M&S we’re so poorly stocked. Waitrose came good, though.

Just having a coffee now and then going to clean the downstairs of the house. Roping DH into present wrapping tonight. Not very organised this year!

Teen DD is slowly getting over tonsillitis and teen DS flu, so they’re still in bed. I’m going to hit all my chores hard today so I can actually..y’know…have a BREAK for a few days .

Up early - first day off and not back at work until 28th so, bliss.
Wrapping presents whilst watching schmaltsy Xmas Hallmark film.
About to have toasted Panetonne for breakfast - just made a huge mug of cappucino - hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream for DDs.
Aldi run later.
Then making Xmas cookies - need to hunt down the Xmas tree cutter - can only find gingerbread man and candy cane ones but DD wants trees!
Then planning a pamper later as going to local village pub as they have arranged a Xmas sing song - apparently child friendly until 9pm so we will bring our DDs too as think they will enjoy it.
Then I plan to watch Motherland Xmas special in bed later.

Sat in Tyre Garage waiting for them to mend a puncture 🙄
Then last of food shopping for Boxing Day.
This afternoon wrapping last of presents, might attempt to make mince pies.
Hopefully going out for early dinner.

No one in family is ill and I hope it stays that way. So sorry for all who are poorly

DH and DD are reading books on the sofa and DS is bouncing around the house excitedly with his tablet in his hand (he's autistic). I'm drinking a morning cuppa while I wait for my Pret chocolate croissant to bake.

Collecting the big shop at 2. Prob just have a quiet afternoon after that. DD had a temp yesterday and day before but has broken overnight, want to get her properly better today.

I need to find time to wrap presents but I always seem to have a kid right behind me!

Having a lazy morning so far. Done the washing up and tidied in between watching the new season of Emily in Paris.

DP finishes at lunchtime so will do the food shop. Not looking forward to how busy it will be but we aren't hosting so don't need a lot and hoping scan and shop saves some time. I have a feeling we will still need to visit 2 supermarkets to get everything we need.

I have a couple of things to wrap so will try to hide away from DD while I get that done.

Looking forward to watching the new Knives Out film later. I've bought the Co op (ie. Cheaper) version of the M and S Very Merry Munch so we will snack on that.

So far I have had 2 cups of coffee, cleaned out the fridge, tidied the kitchen, put a load of towels in the tumble dryer and sorted out the yarn for the pair of socks I’m knitting for my DDIL.
DH says he’s walking the dog but as usual it’s when he’s ready so everyone including the DDog has to wait 🤬
Ocado should be delivering in the next hour then I will be sorted! I cleaned through the house yesterday so apart from daily tidy up that’s that 😊Tomorrow I will prep the veg etc, then sit back and do very little I hope!

I've made coffee, cleaned the cooker filter, emptied and reloaded the dishwasher, fed the cat and medicated him and tidied the kitchen which is a storm every morning now DC are back from uni, late night snacking. I've taken tea in bed to DH but then he got up to feed the birds in torrential rain. I need to wrap DS2's girlfriend's Christmas present before she goes home to her parents. And then the day is free! I fancy a Christmas film. I still haven't wrapped a single present, so maybe I'll hide upstairs with a good podcast and a glass of bubbly and get stuck into that job.

Just back from the shops, in the pissing rain, picking up what was missing from the online shop. We're all back in PJ's now. Its meant to be drier later so we are going to do the rounds and drop cards and gifts into my dad, my sister and the inlaws. Need to collect eldest child from grandparents anyway. Hopefully they feed us (I heard a rumour there is a big pot of stew on the go!!)

Movie later. Think we'll do National Lampoon's!!
