Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just finishing my first cuppa of the day then I'm off up to wrap the last couple of small presents for the girls. Two haven't arrived but never mind; they're not important ones & I'll wrap them when they do.

I've got the washer going, and another load waiting, so there's as little as possible to do over the Christmas weekend. I also need to pay a couple of bills online.

We're popping to Lidl for a couple of things we prefer from there, and hunting down a Galaxy selection box that was missing from my shop yesterday.

After that, I've something to drop in for a friend then it's home to make the gingerbread house, and some mulled wine, with the girls (wine for me, don't worry!).

Frozen pizzas for tea, probably while we build!

So far i have cleaned the fridge , dusted and hoovered downstairs. Washing machine also going. Going to do upstairs shortly and clean bathrooms later.
DD2 wants to play some games and we are going to take a walk to a local house that does lovely lights later.

Dh is at work, he finishes today until after new year, I've been on annual leave this week so have got a fair bit done already. I'm cleaning the house today, with the help of the dc, upstairs is done bar the hoovering and we're about to start on downstairs. Spaghetti bolognaise for dinner later and Motherland and Inside No. 9 specials with dh and ds (15) after dd is in bed. Then when ds has gone to bed, dh and I will watch the Two Doors Down special and finish off the wrapping with a gin bramble to hand

I was up late last night, watching Diehard, on the ITV player, which was an hour later than the listings, for some reason. But one bit of Christmas done!
DH came back from the pub with a terrible upset stomach, spending lots of time in the loo. We tracked it back to some mince pies he ate from the bar, otherwise we've eaten the same… He's recovered enough to go to town for a haircut and is bringing back fish and chips.
My cleaner isn't well enough to come today, so I'll whisk the hoover round and do the kitchen floor, etc.
I've sent for one of those chimney sheep blockers because the cold draught down the parlour chimney is astonishing. It won't come for some time, so I'm going to blow up a rubbish bag and stuff it up there, with a note to remind us.
A dirty job, but someone's got to do it.

Been up since 5,30 wrapping,cleaning,washing,ironing.
Put together a home made hamper as a pressie,really happy how it's turned out,my DH said it looks like a professional one 😀
Just sitting with a cuppa and a chocolate madeleine.
Trying to get DS2 15 out of bed so he can get his hair cut while I have my nails done but it's raining really hard here,going to get soaked.
Pulled pork baps and fries for dinner and a film later.

Morning everyone. I was up at 6.45am today she had a nice, peaceful 1.5 hours to myself before dh and dd8 woke up.

We had our Christmas food shop delivered this morning but it had 15 substitutions (most of which were sent back) and 4 items unavailable so I had to go out to asda to pick up the missing items and dd18 and dd8 came with me too.

We’re all done and organised for Christmas now though thankfully so we can just relax until the big day. I think this afternoon we’ll just watch some Christmas films once dd15 gets up and eat chocolate then we’re planning a takeaway for tea and I’ll make a start on the Christmas wine later this afternoon and let dh be on drinking duty to take dd18 to work this evening.

I finished work yesterday and got paid today.

I need to go into the city to buy a few presents. My husband will go finish the food shopping.

This evening I will relax with the soaps, then a film and a few snowballs.

I just nipped to Morrisons to buy butter and I'd say it was 80% people over 75 all shocked and exclaiming about how busy it was. 😂

Phew the evening do has been called off! Her boiler is broken and she was in two minds about it anyway. Ah I feel a weight off my shoulders!
Now to clean out the fridge before collecting shop!

Currently being driven to Brighton to stay at my mums for Christmas, the roads aren't as bad as I thought they might be.
Spent the morning packing last minute bits like chargers, meds etc and am now trying to remember if I've got everything, but it's too late now anyway!
Just stopped for a coffee and a wee, back on the road and DS is playing quietly on his switch and we have a massive box of chocolates to see us through the journey!
Luckily no Christmas food shopping really as my lovely mum has booked us a table at a fancy Brighton pub for Christmas Dinner and for the first time in years I don't have to cook!

Up very early to go and pick up our toddler grandson. Horrible driving conditions with heavy rain. Did a quick supermarket shop on the way for a few extra bits. I've been playing with our grandson while my husband has hoovered and cleaned up the kitchen. Our grandson is in his highchair having lunch at the moment, so a few minutes peace to look at Mumsnet. Husband is out for his usual daily walk.

We'll leave to take our grandson home a bit earlier than usual because of the expected horrendous traffic to get across the city. Then will have an easy ready meal type supper and a drink. (And probably an early night - always tired by the evening on the days I have our boy) but wouldn't miss it for the world.

Working today and tomorrow

I’m at the big shopping centre near us to run various errands- buying yet more wrapping paper, ground ginger for the Christmas biscuits (got the last one!), picking up my glasses. Desperately trying to find a Costa gift card for my grandma as the one I ordered hasn’t shown up and Costa has sold out.

Ive stopped in McDonald’s for lunch, which is surprisingly quiet inside- although the drive through is mental. Fortifying myself with a cheeseburger, fries, McFlurry and an enormous Diet Coke.

Will head back to pick DD up from school shortly and we’re making our annual Christmas biscuits. DH is at work tonight so I’ll be wrapping on my own and watching Motherland. Then we should be all set!

We're back from Lidl and just having lunch - pizza for dd2, and the last of the stollen for me and dd1.

My friend's out for the afternoon so I'll pop round to her work tomorrow to drop the thing I have for her off, at some point.

I'm going to ice our Christmas cake instead, and wait impatiently for my email to ping that the last parcel containing some things for dd2's birthday on Weds is at One Stop.

By then, the girls' dad should be back & we can all do the gingerbread house together!
