Weird shit on YouTube Ninja Kids

Whowhatwherewhenwhynow · 22/12/2022 08:17

my Kids are getting to the age where they are watching more YouTube. I’m seeing so many concerning videos. Obviously there the overtly concerning videos, but even on YouTube kids, on the videos designed for children, some of the content is plain weird.

my daughter was watching Ninja kids this morning (a family of gymnasts that make family films at home). The video was the family doing eliminations of girls to find a girlfriend for their oldest son. Elimination rounds included giving a massage, doing the splits and bouncing on the trampoline!! Talk about sexualisation out in then open.

Also the high number of family creating content using their children is so concerning to me.

Has anyone else watched ninja kids. Do you find it weird too?

I've just posted about weird comedy on YouTube for older kids too! Want to turn it off tbh it feels too risky that just anything can pop up!

Lots of YouTube kids content is either -

A) made in India, where the creator is under huge pressure to deliver content and where the cultural values of what's family entertainment is pretty different

B) AI generated stories and content, yes, really

And there are instances of people adding deliberately obscene material.

Just seen a post on here from Tomhello which looks horrendous- very tempted to just block it once and for all!

I was horrified when my 6 year old was watching Zam Fam Rebecca someone, and she talks about dating and crushes and in one video was talking about taking a pregnancy test and trying for a baby!! She's now banned in my house. How she thinks that is content suitable for young kids I don't know it's disgusting

Nothomealonetoo · 31/12/2022 21:53

My children have been watching some ninja kids videos this week. I haven't seen the one you mention above, but there was one I hated with the two younger children in a box having things pored onto them. They were not enjoying it.
I do worry that parents are encouraging and normalising the behaviours for their own benefit.

oh Really?! Yea it’s all very odd. Slight sexual undertones, weird having their dad in the back ground filming. They just all
seem very odd. I feel for the children involved. I think there needs to be better regulation around children being used this was on you tube and social media.

Ew this sounds very dodgy- can you report it? Think it's the flag button you click on - there's plenty of horrible people about who wouldn't think twice about using their kids in internet videos and they need to be reported.

Moonchild79 · 18/05/2023 22:23

A bit late to the thread but my little one recently discovered ninja kidz too and I’m not a fan. It is very money oriented, highly competitive (even when the kids are not keen to participate) and nearly every sentence concludes with ‘hit the like button’. I agree with OP re: slight undertones e.g their kissing history etc. What has that got to do with their back flips and karate chops?

Squahingmelons · 25/09/2023 02:36

I complete agree that their content is whack, they recently went to my child’s school and filmed around the school, and did not ask for the parents or the children's permission. They posted the video on YouTube like it was okay to film minors and put it on social media.

We strive to make family friendly content for all of our channels but not all of our videos are intended for young children. The video you’re referring to is on our family channel and is not on the Ninja Kidz channel. The boy you’re referring to was 18 when the video was made. This video is still fun, innocent and appropriate for most viewers. We feel it’s valuable for youth to see wholesome dating and relationships. Depending on the age of your child and what you’d like them to view I can appreciate that dating isn’t something you want them to view.

someone else mentioned a box where the teenagers drop things on one another. That’s also not on Ninja Kidz. We make different content for different channels but we have no control over how YouTube shares our videos or who chooses to watch them. We feel that we make some of the most wholesome content on YouTube for older kids and families. On the Ninja Kidz channel most of our videos are intended for audiences 8 and older while our other channels are for teenagers and older.

NinjaMaster · 30/09/2023 11:09

We had permission from the school whom informed us that every student had waiver signed that allows the use of their image. As you can see in the video, most of the students were very excited to participate. If your student appears in the video we can remove their likeness. Email us where they appear in the video with proof that you are who you say you are and we will be happy to remove them. [email protected]

This was a very challenging video but a very important one for us. We may not have hit every goal perfectly but we did our best to highlight fun things about school and education. Most people love the video. You might also if you give it a chance.

That family need reporting to social services. They have some random kid playing ‘mini Rebecca’ and also tour their baby like she’s some sort of woman. Awful people.

VirusSchmirus · 30/09/2023 14:13

Think any family whose first thoughts when their child is in hospital is to whip out a phone to capture footage is clearly prioritising their channel rather than the child's well-being.

Tooth extraction?
Bitten by a spider?
Cut your leg open?

Great! Get it recorded and uploaded!!

Ninja Kids have done the above, all for the likes.

NinjaMaster · 30/09/2023 18:15

All 3 are wholesome videos that were made to document our families experiences and share with people for informational purposes. The wisdom tooth video was also made for entertainment because our teenage daughter wanted to make it. We stand behind the integrity of those videos. You can troll us all day long but you can’t deny how amazing our kids are and how much love and effort we’ve put into parenting them.

AaronHeine · 03/10/2023 20:03

The only way to prevent them from watching crap is to block YouTube's recommendations completely. Use an app such as Channel Lab Kids that does that.

BodenCardiganNot · 03/10/2023 20:08

Parents need to take responsibility for allowing their children to watch the absolute shite that ends up on YouTube and other platforms. Stop leaving it up to other people to protect your children.

Lovethatforyouhun · 03/10/2023 20:21

You are the parent. Why let your kids watch this crap? Its all modern day stage parents exploiting their children for fame and money. Yuck!

she doesn’t watch it anymore. 🙄 I was supervising her viewing hence how I saw the concerning content. Once I had seen the content it was blocked. We have it so she can only watch what we approve and we don’t let her watch ninja kids anymore.

I totally missed this reply.

personally I think that teens choosing to do this type of ‘dating’ activity is one thing…adults filming it and uploading it to the internet for monetary gain is a completely different thing. I do find it exploitative and inappropriate.

I do actually like some of the content you make. The physical skills of the children is amazing and my daughter first watched because of an interest on gymnastic and watching the skills of the children. I think the marked has been well missed with some of the content though and this “dating” video was way off mark IMO.

No one thinks your kids aren’t amazing.
I am also sure that you love them and have put lots of effort into raising them. People just disagree with the things you choose to film and how those things are shared and monetised .

If this is even the Ninja Kidz family, I can assure you I CAN deny that your kids are amazing
