Brits binge drinking abroad

I've not long gotten back from a lovely 5 star resort in Hurghada, Egypt, me and my bf splashed out a bit because of negative experiences in lower rated places in Turkey but we saw exactly the same..

Most of the guests were Russians but a close second were Brits who just lounged around getting off their face on the alcohol on offer.

We made friends with some lovely people from various European countries but felt constant shame from the behavior of our compatriots.

From what I gather Russians are the same, but there's a lack of beer guts on show and the women try to glam themselves up..

Why do British people just want to be intoxicated 24/7 when abroad?

Haha I've never been to an all inclusive in my life. I've lived in Spain (NOT a touristy area) , Switzerland and have been all over Europe Asia and America. Not bragging here, just emphasising I don't travel to Magaluf! However when you travel extensively you do come across pockets of "Brits abroad" and I see how they behave compared to the locals. My in-laws do live in a touristy place in southern Europe which I can't avoid.

People of all nationalities have their own idiots
But having a drink is not a crime like the OP is making out

Some people enjoy being drunk. I think the sunny resort holidays tend to attract people who love to bake and get pissed.
Russians tend to be appearance conscious particularly for the wife to keep her figure and glam up.

It's not the holiday for many because of drunken behaviour by the majority of guests. But those who frown upon such antics still go and moan.

Choose your break wisely to suit your likes and dislikes. AI and many resorts are similar. Avoid if you clutch pearls a lot.

So the drinking behaviour isn’t quite as bad as long as you glam yourself up? You do realise women aren’t required to look beautiful at all times just to appease everyone else, right? I’ve seen these things pointed out before and it’s so unfeminist, as if wearing high heels and a designer dress somehow mitigates for behaviour. Lots of nationalities have this behaviour, and British women get seen as worse because we’re not beautiful enough, apparently.

But anyway, an all-inclusive resort clearly isn’t the right type of holiday for you.
