Help please!

I'm tired and exhausted from work and feeling uninspired!

I need quick, clever but easy ideas please for TONIGHT!

So far we've done (ours only comes out on the 15th...as I told the kids that's what the lady in the shop said...)

  • with ducks in the bath, initials written in toothpaste
  • toilet roll wrapped round the kids chairs
  • playing in flour
  • playing snowballs on the living room mat with cotton wool balls
OP posts:

Trapped in a toilet roll and rolled down the stairs.

giving a little chocolate

tucked up reading a kids book (bonus points if Xmas book or eg elves and the shoemaker)

PlantDoctor · 20/12/2022 22:11

Decorating tree with pants, snowman out of three toilet rolls (Google for photo but very easy!), Hiding in tree or decorations, tea party/puzzle/game with kids' toys

CJCreggsGoldfish · 20/12/2022 22:11

Words on a scrabble board. Can be nice (merry Christmas) or a bit rude depending on age of child.
Frying Haribo eggs in a frying pan.

I saw a photo on FB where one was driving the little boy's train. Looked very cute!
Trapped in the washing machine.
Swinging from the light fittings.
Eating a chocolate from the tree.

If you have wrapped presents under your tree have him opening one - a boring one not for family!

Ocrumbs · 20/12/2022 22:15

Dismembered

Coconutmangoprune · 20/12/2022 22:16

There’s loads of inspiration on facebook.

MKD1 · 20/12/2022 22:19

I've been running out of ideas myself. So last few days I've done the following.

1 day: but him in my youngest child's room with his pants on.
2nd day: put him in my eldest child's room with her socks on him.
3rd day, hubby's boxer bedside draw with his hat on.
4th day: my underwear draw with my bra on him.

Other things which I've done:
Made a mess with cereal, with a note saying Elf has tried to help with breakfast.

Wrapped kids school shoes as a joke.

Put toilet roll around the living room lights and the elf hanging off.

Put him in the booze draw with a straw in a empty beer can.

Kids found it hilarious.

Now trying to think of something tonight!

Sellotaped to a kitchen cupboard.
Driving the Barbie car.
Swinging on a bauble.
Wrapped up in Christmas wrapping paper with just an arm sticking out.
Stuck in a blind.

Ours is currently talking to all the Barbies on the kitchen table.....

Small bowl of Coco pops and sign saying 'free reindeer poo'.

Juicylychee · 20/12/2022 22:27

Bloody hell why do people bring this on themselves?

tealandteal · 20/12/2022 22:28

Our elf does fairly tame things as if he does anything too exciting DS wakes up early the next day to check on him. He has climbed the Christmas tree, cooked Haribo fried eggs, got trapped in a Tupperware. Tonight he has made a hammock out of the baby’s muslin.

AdelaideLane · 20/12/2022 22:30

Sitting with a letter saying he's having the next two nights off as he needs to catch up with his sleep!

Rosiepeta · 20/12/2022 22:30

If you have any crinkle crisps and regular crisps put the crinkle ones on one side of the iron, and the regular other side..theyve ironed the crinkles out
Paint your brows green..super easy..mums been grinched.
Throw a blanket over them..they are playing hide and seek
Eat something meant for Christmas and leave the wrappers next to them.
Open their advent calender.
Fill the sink ( add food colouring if you have it) put elf in something that floats or if you have older kids do it in the bath.
Make it look like they are wearing the school uniform

Sorry, missing the point of the thread but this ☝🏻. And don’t buy one ever again. We’ve never had one, I’ve got enough to do, kids don’t care. Good luck 💐

Damnautocorrect · 20/12/2022 22:33

Working / fixing a toy car

toy conga

sweet shop if you’ve got some knocking about

wind up toy racing, chocolate coins for bets on which one will win

nerf gun fight

paper snowflake making with some for your kids to do

jelly bean seed planting, tomorrow candy canes appear

hide chocolates / sweets round the room to find.

pool of water, brought back some snow from lapland.

Damnautocorrect · 20/12/2022 22:35

Wipe on wipe off pen on picture. Or print out elf hats for your pictures.

purpleme12 · 20/12/2022 22:38

Put child's knickers on Christmas tree

purpleme12 · 20/12/2022 22:39

Put him in freezer

queenofkale · 20/12/2022 22:40

Sitting in a bra hammock

Elf's leave chocolate buttons in a bowl with a note saying have some elf poo for breakfast.

If you've got any hobbies, get them to "mess" with that - playing with your knitting or sewing or craft.

Knickers or pants on the Christmas tree

Lipstick red noses for the kids and then elves have rudolfed them

Tie them up with tinsel and hang them from a light.

GuyFawkesDay · 20/12/2022 22:41

Hobbycraft self sticking goggly eyes. On everything on the room.

Kids howled with laughter.
